Student expelled by law school after posting ‘It’s OK to be white’ flyers: report

That he's "a racist, segregationist asshole with fascist tendencies" as Koy insists? No. It really isn't.
It is more consistent with the meager evidence we have than your evidence-free defense.

No evidence is needed to defend against slanderous over the top attacks with no evidence. The best evidence you've got suggests he doesn't personally want to boink women who have had sex with black men. That may make him mildly racist.
"May"? That is bigoted. No doubt about it. Which makes his "Its ok to be white" less than the innocuous taunt you wish us to swallow.

Your context free analysis is completely pointless in world where context exists.

Its personal sexual preference. Yes, it may be racist, but hardly problematic. Now, if he was telling women not to have sex with black men, that'd be something. That would be a fascist tendency as Koy alleges. But from what I've read, that's not what he said.

Which makes his "Its ok to be white" less than the innocuous taunt you wish us to swallow.

It was meant to trigger you lot, and mock you by getting you to demonstrate your own prejudice, and it did that quite well.

It doesn't demonstrate prejudice. It doesnt 'trigger' us. It just makes it obvious that you lot are just casual racists making racist jokes and trying to pretend it isn't.

It's just another false joke.in bad faith that you can hid behind in the futile hope that we won't just turn our backs on including you in society, kick you out of our campuses, and leave you cold and alone.

We're not the ones who suffer from your "trolling". As another person I recall saying: play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Cry more, racist.

“How much you guys want to bet if the student posted "it's OK to be black!" signs, they wouldn't have done a thing?“

I’ll bet you $100 billion. Be sure to get back to me when someone does that so we can settle up.

It is quite possible he doesn't care if women he sleeps with had sex with any particular group. Which then kind of makes one wonder, why even bring it up in the first place? Trolls seem to think their trolling needs to be respected.

He posted it in a personal ad on campus. If this is just another one of those "jokes", it is still a racist joke, and a perfectly fine reason to push his racist ass out.

It is "inflammatory", and as such, quite obviously inflammatory. At best, he is being an asshole... and college institutions are not obliged to let assholes do needlessly asshole-ish things. Can I reemphasize the "needless" part of the sentence.

This is where the trolls feel their trolling should be respected and they shouldn't be punished for being assholes. There is no underlying motive for this behavior that is meant to enlighten. This isn't on any level a Jonathon Swift type attempt at satire. He likely had an opportunity to sell his side, of which he failed. This idiot is a metaphorical firebug (I'd say literary but there was not much writing involved), and that is the best case scenario.

And after knowing the college's position on this, the dumbass doubled down and lost. He became lost in his trolling... and gosh, it'd be a bit hard to explain to parents why he did what he did.

Cough cough: I would also like to point out that it is extremely misogynistic in addition to being racist.

His requirement implies that a woman can be somehow 'sullied' by her sex partners and that a previous black partner would definitely 'sully' her.

Perhaps he's worried that if she turns up pregnant, the kid will look black and he might get stuck raising a biracial child--although why he didn't also object to previous non-white partners (assuming he is white) I cannot guess.

Perhaps he believes that black men are so well endowed that he would suffer by comparison. In which case, it's a wonder he didn't insist that any previous sexual partner be Asian since that's also a stereotype.

I do understand that racism is far worse than sexism to y'all.

Pretty sure the line is taken from "Its ok to be gay"... and it obviously is. And yes, no school will object to posting that.

Why assume it was a joke? Maybe it was an honest statement of his sexual preference. And even if that preference is racist, so what? That's not rational grounds to punish somebody. Not unless they push racist actions against others. And if not having sex with somebody is to be considered a racist action, then what do you say to prostitutes who list "no black men" in their adds? Should they be forced to have sex with black men? Its racist for them not to, after all, right?

If so, that would only be sexist if he thinks a man can't similarly be sullied. As you noted, some people only want to have sex with virgins. You also think that's misogyny? What if the man also abstains from sex until marriage? That's not sexism. That's prudishness. And they have every right to be prudes.

Perhaps he believes that black men are so well endowed that he would suffer by comparison. In which case, it's a wonder he didn't insist that any previous sexual partner be Asian since that's also a stereotype.

Maybe he did. We haven't seen everything he's written.

Hence this seems more like a troll. It is too over the top. JP seems to somehow missed, with his prostitute remark, that isn't about the alleged preferences of the student, but he is advertising based on the history of a person. Which is just wrong on so many levels.

And even if, based on JP's very charitable suggestion the person is being honest, the school slapped his wrist. And his response is to hang a sign saying "It is okay to be white"... which is out of context of the original inflammatory event, which continues to imply nefarious or trolling behavior.

So a little bit of racism is hardly problematic. Good to know.
Now, if he was telling women not to have sex with black men, that'd be something.
How would that be anymore more "problematic"? Women don't have to listen to him.

It was meant to trigger you lot, and mock you by getting you to demonstrate your own prejudice, and it did that quite well.
I don't know what it was meant to do and neither do you. But I do know that it helped flush out the prejudice of the dupes and enablers of racism with their ridiculous attempts at spin.

Maybe but in my observation, there is a non- negligible overlap between racists and sexists.

Okay, so now you are arguing ‘so what’ to racism?

A "racist" sexual preference is indeed worthy of a "so what". In the same way you could say that a gay man is sexist in his sexual preference.

Not necessarily. Gay men are not sexually attracted to women. That doesn’t mean that they regard women as less equal human beings deserving of less respect or legal or societal protections. Obviously we all know that some gay men are sexist and/or misogynist. Their sexual preferences are independent of any sexist or misogynist attitudes they hold.

Someone may be only sexually attracted to members of a certain racial group but hold no feelings it attitudes that those belonging to those groups are in any way inferior or deserving of lesser rights and protections.

Or they can be not sexually attracted to members of a group because they regard that group as less than human or less deserving of equal rights and protections due to their race. That would be racist.

Plenty of men are sexually attracted to women while finding them undeserving or not needing equal rights and protections as men. That’s sexist and misogynist.

Some may prefer members of certain races because they see them as less deserving of equal rights and protections. That is racist.

"In the same way you could say that a gay man is sexist in his sexual preference."

Well, if the two situations were similar, yeah, it'd be the "same way". But one has to do with personal preference while the other has to do with the partner's sexual history (regarding race), which are not particularly similar things.

Agreed.

And just to add it since you didn't, the same applies regardless of what race the person is and what race they are attracted to, and applies to women as well as to men.

Just got to get that virtue signalling in.
