Epstein, Kiddies, And Trump. Oh, My

France set itself back 30 years with their revolution.
Did it? By what measure?

...

By whose standards are you measuring "back 30 years"?
I'm not aware of the exact yardstick in that 30 years...
Then where the fuck did that number come from? How do you know it wasn't thirty days, or thirty centuries, or minus three years??

Did you just read that somewhere, and believe it without question?

Why would you expect to be able to make a quantitative claim like that on this board, and not be challenged?

With all this Epstein stuff coming out, it's easy to understand now why Trump wanted Gaetz to be Attorney General.

This is more about our system than about Gaetz. As with all illegal markets there's no enforcement of standards. I see nothing in that to suggest he knew she was underage. Gaetz is vile but this isn't proof of it.
What, you think that it would be perfectly fine for him to exploit a homeless woman if she was above the age of consent?

WTF is wrong with you?

Of course she was a commodity--that's what actors/actresses are!
Seriously?? That is a truly obscene thing to say.

No worker is a commodity. Actors are paid professionals.
I agree that it’s an obscene concept—and reality for most actors and indeed for many workers.
...and yet again I find myself astonished that US workers haven't risen up in bloody revolution and hanged their bosses from the streetlamps, or set up guillotines in the Capitol Mall.

Or even just collectively agreed to not work for anyone who treats them like shit.
Perhaps they remember some history.
The guillotines led to Napoloeon which led to the invasion of Russia and Waterloo.
The frogs have not won a war since.
France set itself back 30 years with their revolution.
O my fucking god you are on a roll tonight. It stuns me that you are not publicly worshipping at the alter of Trump.
Because I don't like one extreme somehow means I favor the other extreme?!?! When you do something like the French Revolution you take out an awful lot of good with the bad. Likewise, look at the disaster of the Cultural Revolution. They didn't kill the people, just put them in menial positions but it robbed society of their skills and 10% of the population died. Likewise, look at ex-colonial Africa. All the skilled people from before the revolutions were removed from their positions and it's universally been a disaster for the countries.
It’s much easier to accept the status quo or to advocate for slow ( as in the ice bergs slowly receded) change when you are in a comfortable position—even or perhaps especially if you are a straight white make with blonde hair and blue eyes who is fairly comfortable in his career and station in life.

Plenty of people got killed in ( name the revolution).

I prefer a peaceful progression to better and a a more equal and just society, including workplace and policing and healthcare. It very much seems as though we have been moving away from a fair and just society for all. Billionaires and their buddies don’t bother with laws. Laws are for the little people.
