Bernie Can't Win

Latest Huffpost Polls

Democratic National Polls

  • Hillary Clinton 48.7%
  • Bernie Sanders 42.3%

Hillary Clinton +6.4%

What are the polls for likely primary voters?

Despite being in the news, many of these polls merely reflect name recognition. The American people are not the most educated in the world, generally.

Huffington Post Polls show charts that demonstrate Bernie is trending up steadily while Clinton is trending down steadily.
These polls are accumulative and seem to show that as Sanders gains name recognition and that as voters learn about his positions, he is gaining voter support. Its still a long haul for sanders but he has a chance. And these polls show Sanders is at this point in time, capable of beating Trump.

Sat night Clinton crushed Sanders by 50 points in south Carolina democratic primary. With super Tuesday coming soon Clinton way ahead in delegates.

This is not good news.

Agree with the title of this thread. Clinton looks like being the Democrat candidate for the race to the White House. That is, if people don't fall for the Bernie mantra of a free lunch for everyone.

I'm so sick of this bullshit "free lunch" retort. Nothing is free. Free health care isn't free. I'm not asking for "free health care". I want Universal Health Care which means little out of pocket, but still paid for by my fucking taxes, which would likely be shifted from all that money I pay in health care premiums to a UHC tax instead. And we are already paying for the health care for the elderly, disabled, and poor.

Free college? It isn't free. It costs money to the economy. The question is, does the economy work better under A or B (or is there little difference)?:

A) College grad putting more money into economy because of no loans v Marginally higher taxes for general population to pay for their college

B) College grad puts less money into economy because they are giving it to banks to pay back loans v Lower taxes for general population because of no "free" college

Glad to see you are starting to see what we all saw quite a while ago. Sanders has done much better than ever expected, but he was never going to win the nomination.

I don't think Sanders can win the nomination, but I do think he can shift the political landscape a little bit. Especially with Trump on the other side, also railing against the current political establishment. It has never looked better in the US as far as the push to get money out of politics. I think Citizens United could be overturned for you in the next few years. Consider how Occupy Wall Street fizzled out, and then its next incarnation was a major contender for the nomination of the Democratic Party and surprising threat to Hillary Clinton. Perhaps in another 4 or 8 years, somebody like Elizabeth Warren could win the white house.

I don't know who is going to win.

All I know is Hillary doesn't deserve it. She has fucked up everything she's touched in government. From her heath care proposal in Bill's first administration to her support of the invasion of Iraq.

As usual money will probably win out. That is all Hillary has. A few billionaires backing her.

That will expect and get special treatment if she wins.

The only good thing that can be said about her is she is a little better than Trump, and possibly worse in some areas.
