Climate Change(d)?

we’ve been doing this same cycle for years. Your whole argument depends on predictions made by wonky data modeling, activist “scientists” and promoted by media like the BBC.

How dare you, indeed. 😂

What a joke.
It was predicted by climate scientists paid by the Oil Industry.
What you are experiencing is called weather.

Major climate change today, it’s raining!!
No. Weather is short term. Almost no hikes were scheduled yesterday because the chance of rain was high. But these days the summer just gets too hot for me to enjoy hiking. That is climate.
Eternal's thread on bulls and evolution comes to mind these days whenever TSwizzle posts about science.

I never heard of this.
Called Kelvin wave. Could raise sea levels on the California coast as much as 12 in.
On top of high tides and winter storms. This could be bad for coastal cities.

But hey, do build those beach houses, dip shits!

That was my earlier point. The weather isn't normal. It's related to climate change. September has been above normal here in Georgia everyday. We were only 1 degree above normal yesterday but last week, the temps were as much as 12 degrees above normal. Next week we are headed back to the 90s and the humidity is making it deadly for anyone outdoors too long, especially those who work outdoors. It was over 100 degrees in NYC for a few days in June and in the mid 90s in Indy last week. This is all weather related to climate change.
Yeah. Last week it finally cooled enough to get in a hike at the top of my temperature tolerance. This week, extreme heat advisories are back.
Plus, I read we have just passed the 1.5 degree C that was part of what the Paris Climate Agreement was trying to avoid. Only someone ignorant regarding climate change doesn't understand how dire that 1.5 degree C means to the world.
1.5C is a round number for humans, it's not a threshold in terms of climate. Besides, Paris was an exercise in pretending to do something. Climate agreements without realistic enforcement mechanisms are basically meaningless.

How soon will Southern Nevada become unlivable?

Wasn't aware of this, either.

As always, it's not the sea level that "matters", it's the extremes. Likewise, the heat. There is no place on Earth that is on average too warm. No day is too hot for survival. The heat kills happen when the high point is too high, not when the average is too high.

You can say that again.

TSwizzle would've had a real problem with scientists helping to solve the radium poisoning issue back in the day.

As we see in vivid living color, most Republican voters have a hard time finding their own ass with both hands. Their grasp on science is generally on par with that of a precocious first grader.

I bet he didn't even know that was an issue back in the day until I mentioned it.

Don't you just hate it when your house on the water in southern Ca has waves crashing over it,

Numerous videos in the news.

100 degrees and humid in La. Santat Monica up in the mid 80s.

Yes Steve, there is weather in Santa Monica.

A balmy 80f on the West Side today. I do enjoy driving to work with the top down.

As usual yo resort to what you think is being witty and clever.

But you have yet to reunite any of climate science. You apparently know nothing of what drives your local weather.

All you have is a fixed set of responses yuo repeat over and over.

Do you understand what high and low pressure weather systems are, and how they develop into storms, and how ocean temperature far from Santa Monica affect your localk weather?

I have zero sympathy for anyone that has a home that close to the beach. WTF, you can't walk a few hundred yards to see the ocean.

TSwizzle, it is hard to tell, do you even know what the jet stream is?
AI Overview
Yes, the jet stream heavily affects global weather by acting as an atmospheric highway that steers major high- and low-pressure systems, storms, and temperature boundaries across entire continents.

How the Jet Stream Works
Fast Winds: Jet streams are narrow bands of high-speed winds flowing from west to east high in the atmosphere.Temperature

Divider: They form where cold polar air meets warmer air from the tropics.Storm Highway: They push weather systems along, dictating where rain, snow, heat, and cold snaps land

Impact on Weather Patterns
Straight Flow: When the jet stream moves in a relatively straight west-to-east path, weather moves along quickly and remains fairly normal.

Wavy Flow: When it meanders in large north-south waves, it can lock weather systems in place.

Extreme Weather: A wavy or slowed jet stream can trap hot air over a region to cause [heat waves], or stall storms over an area to cause severe [flooding] and [droughts]. It can also drag freezing Arctic air deep into warmer southern regions.

I know this stuff as basic as it is bounces off your head.

The jet stream affects global wearer, and global warming is shoplifting the jet stream. As a simple analogy you can look at the jet stream as a global air conditioner spreading polar cold air around th globe.

How the Jet Stream Impacts California
Storm Delivery: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) explains that when the jet stream dips south toward California, it guides moisture-rich storms and atmospheric rivers directly into the state, bringing heavy rain and snow.
Droughts: When the jet stream pushes north or forms a stubborn high-pressure ridge, it blocks Pacific storms from reaching the coast, which leads to dry conditions and droughts.
El Niño Shifts: During active El Niño patterns, the southern branch of the jet stream strengthens and shifts over California, often leading to above-average winter rainfall and flood risks

Your weatherr in Santa Monica is due in part to to polar cold air. Local weather is a function of global climate. It is all connected.
