The father of the female guardsperson says his daughter will not survive her injuries.
There have been large "IMPEACH" demonstrations on the mall all week. I'm sure Rump would love any excuse to break them up.To do what? Search for the guy they have in custody? Now he can now flood the city with troops.

“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Well, at my stage in life I'm not much of an asset to the US, so I should skedaddle. While I __do__ think, this event makes people legitimately angry, it's also being used to further an agenda. From here:

It's the last part of the quote: "remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States." How many times removed is that from going after the guy who is already in custody?

If I could afford it I'd leave as soon as possible.![]()

Yeah - dehumanzing people is a right wing pursuit, and humanizing trees is a left wing pursuit.Demonizing people as vermin because they are immigrants is an extremist view. Extremist views from the left is also a thing.
Do they fuck their feelings?Of course conservatives also have feelings.
Demonizing people as vermin because they are immigrants is an extremist view.Yeah leftists are so intolerant of things like *checks notes* demonizing people as "vermin" because they're immigrants. The horror. Truly an example of pathological extremism.

Feel free to obfuscate as necessary.

Any American who disagrees with Trump can publicly voice that opinion and won't get arrested. Or risk any social repurcussian really. There's even a tolerated opposing political party, that conceivably can win next election.
President Trump’s pledge to pardon Tina Peters, a former Colorado county clerk convicted of tampering with voting machines, touched off a new battle on Friday over the fate of perhaps the last high-profile 2020 election denier still behind bars.
Democratic leaders in Colorado dismissed the pardon as an empty attempt to bully a Democratic state into freeing one of the president’s political allies. They argued that Mr. Trump had no legal power to overturn Ms. Peters’ conviction in state court.
“There’s no legal merit,” Attorney General Phil Weiser of Colorado, a Democrat, said in an interview on Friday.
...
Legal scholars and Colorado officials were incredulous. They said the notion that the president could intervene in state courts clashed with the plain language of the Constitution, as well as its fundamental principles of federalism and states’ rights.
“This is so far beyond the pale,” Mr. Weiser, the attorney general, said. “No one has thought to do this because it is so clearly against our constitutional system of government.”
