NFL 2024

My “equipment” (DISH crap they bought in the Blockbuster acquisition 20-something years ago) is too antiquated to livestream ANYTHING do I missed the games.
Gonna call Dish and tell them to come get their pieces of crap.

What are you talking about. Dish has the a hopper 3 which is lightyears ahead of any other receiver on the planet. If you are using what dates back to Blockbuster merger, you are in dire need of an upgrade!

Patriots toss in new QB who has a pretty good game against a Bills team thinking of the playoffs. Go from1 to 4 in the draft. Mayo is fired. Maye had what I'd consider a Jones like season. Nothing alarming, but not much to look forward to. He seemed to get better at passing, but was having issues with accuracy at times. Milton, from articles, indicate he is considered in prime position for backup. One problem for next year is the offensive coordinator changes again... likely. No stability in the coaching ranks for four years.

There is only one name in New England that I think comes to mind as a head coach candidate: Mike Vrabel. He seemed to be the right guy last year, but became available right after Mayo was selected. Does Vrabel want the job?

Patriots finish one game above the Browns, who spent about $90 million more than the Patriots.

The Browns are done. Myles Garrett is likely to go away. Losing him is going to do catastrophic damage to their defense. The team traded it's future and a massive bounty for one playoff win. Things are not getting better in Cleveland, and Haslam is trying to move the team to the burbs in Brookpark. One more season for Watson makes one wonder whether next year could become the worst in Browns history, going -1 - 18 for the season. With this draft being one of the weakest QB drafts since the 1931 when a plague took the lives of every QB in college, it is hard to see the Browns cutting losses and benching Watson for a new guy.

Baker Mayfield continues his "thank *bleeping* goodness I'm out of Cleveland" dance. Tampa are the 3rd seed somehow. They aren't that good, but the NFC isn't that good, with the talent seemingly stuffed in three teams. Meanwhile 3 loss Minnesota are the Fifth seed. This could make the Eagles have to work harder in their second round game.

Bills, Chiefs, Eagles, Lions, Vikings vying for the Super Bowl. Chiefs win, it'd be three in a row, something the Steelers, 49'ers, Cowboys, and Patriots never achieved! It'd be nauseating greatness because I'm not a Chiefs fan. But they might need to get through the Bills, where Allen has been having a great season. But Buffalo could play Baltimore in the second round! Baltimore feels like the great team that just can't get over the hump.

Not even a mention of the Broncos? First playoff appearance since the Stone Age, and fresh off a 38-0 drubbing of the supposed best team in the NFL?
I guess we’ll find out if they’re for real next week. Buffalo is definitely a force, especially on their home field. If the Donks can escape that, maybe you’ll at least mention them as “next to lose”?

Chiefs aren’t the best team in the league even when their starters play, which they didn’t.

Broncos exceeded expectations, but only a true fan thinks they can run the gauntlet of the Bills, the real Chiefs, and possibly the Ravens.

I’m a true skeptic. Low expectation due to past disappointments. I’ll be fairly happy if the even make next week’s trip to Buffalo a close contest. I.e. if I’m even watching the second half, I’ll be happy. If that turns out to be the case, I’ll be very interested in how they prepare for next year. Nix is the real deal.

KC managed to win their first game because a Baltimore player's shoe was 1/2 inch too long.
Now that it’s playoff time, I went back to the OP, and had to laugh at how that one play foreshadowed the Chiefs’ entire season. But here they are, resting up while the other six AFC contenders beat each other to a pulp.

Six games this weekend+Monday. Point spreads range from 1.5 to 9.5. Two home teams, Texans (vs. Chargers) and Rams (vs. Vikings), are underdogs, Texans deservedly so. I haven’t been fully sold on the Vikings all season, despite their 15-3 record, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are one and done.

The biggest favorites are my Ravens, vs. the Steelers. Kiss of death. AFC North matchups are Bloods vs. Crips no matter how they appear on paper. Pittsburgh has won about 2/3 of their meetings in the past several years, and Baltimore’s #1 receiver is out with an injury. The offensive coordinator could easily sabotage Lamar again this year, causing me to swear off football until at least April.

Chiefs get the Texans. Bills take on the Ravens.

Eagles take on the Vikings or Rams while the Lions get the Commanders.

Found out. ;)

Made the playoffs though, and that is a good thing. Could be Cleveland.

Hey, after nine years of not even a wildcard berth, it’s like winning the… well, a wildcard berth. 🫤

Watched all five games with a group of college friends we host every Wild Card weekend. One close game out of five. Chargers imploded with turnovers against a Texans defense that woke up just in time. Packers stayed close for a while as the Eagles did their usual dithering, but Green Bay’s offense was too offensive. Broncos defense inexplicably couldn’t contain the Bills run game. And the Ravens took the Steelers’ soul with a 85-yard, 13 play TD drive that featured zero passes.

Jayden Daniels is seriously good. The rest of the team is overachieving. That’s not likely to be good enough next week.

Hoping for an entertaining game tonight.

Oh well, last night was entertaining if you like lions vs. Christians performances. I’ve been calling the Vikings frauds for months, and they really came through for me in that debacle. Sam Darnold probably cost himself two million dollars a minute while doing an Oscar-worthy turn as a deer in headlights.

They can be frauds, but a 14 win season is pretty nice. I wish the Patriots could have been that fraudulent. :D

If you’re going to get beaten like a rented mule in the WC round, it might be better to have the high draft slot.
No, I don't think it is. Winning a bunch of close games all season is fun. And 14-3 is great. Let's go look at Peyton Manning and the playoffs, 7 times he went out in the first game. People weren't screaming for Manning's scalp. This guy isn't Manning, but Jebus... people just refuse to be happy.

Great game last night. Also liking Brady in the booth much more than on the field.

Let's keep the upset mojo going for one more game! 🙏🙏🙏

Hopefully the snow will slow down Barkley enough to keep him under 200 yards.

AFC is stacked. Unfortunate only one team can go to the Super Bowl.

Ravens beat the Ravens up pretty damn good, and still had a chance to beat the Bills. At the time, I thought the 2 pt conversion try was unnecessary, and the reward wasn't worth the risk. It'd cost them at the end, when a single point would have tied it.

Well there was one "upset" yesterday, but the wrong one. 😭

Still one of my favorite Rams teams of all time, making the most of what they had to work with, love the players and coaches.

Both games yesterday kind of had the same shape to them, the scoring arc was similar, both had brutal fumbles and drops, and both had a chance to win or tie at the very end.

The Daniels story will be interesting to follow, how far he goes this year and on. Could be the next dynasty maker, we'll see.

Happy for Terry McLaurin for finally getting a big stage, being one of those players that excels on a losing team for years.

I'm hoping that Taylor Swift puts her end game into action and dumps Kelce this week, preferably game day. She does need new material for her next album.
