Worst Decade of Music: 1960-2020

At least there was no yarling in the 70s.

Oh, and a question for Higgins: I know you're a Yes and prog fan. I'm curious, what did you think of Jon Anderson's solo album, Olias of Sunhillow? I think it's one of the best records ever made.

I gave it a listen and abhorred it, which I was shocked by as it is generally well regarded. I need to give it another chance, but it sounded so hollow.

I generally haven't enjoyed any of Yes's solo work. Wakeman never hired a competent vocalist. Conspiracy (Squire/Sherwood) is an exception.

I have a serious(?) question related to thread topic.

There are five or six songs I've been hearing over and over and over for many years now. I suppose my kids have trained their YouTubes to repeat these songs, but I also constantly hear them at restaurants, shopping malls, etc. Three of the titles are
  • Rude by Magic (2013)
  • Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People (2010)
  • Love Yourself by Justin Bieber (2015)
  • a few others (I'll try to remember to jot the titles when I next hear them, probably today or tomorrow)
As you see, these are not new songs; they're 10-15 years old.
When I was young we often heard "oldies but goodies" but the longevity of the songs mentioned above seems unprecedented.

Are these songs still oft-heard top hits in other countries; or am I witness to a "Thailand thing"?
