Trump is treading dangerous ground. If he continues to wreak havoc in financial territory, the Repubs may decide obstruction of justice is bad after all.

Another one bites the dust. His inability to keep a full cabinet is one reason why I'm relatively okay with Trump being in the White House. He has evil goals, but he is almost entirely incompetent to achieve them.

He’s pretty successful at fucking over the environment and education, both of which will have long term negative effects.

They seem to be curiously oblivious to the possibility of getting voted out, or that they might lose majorities in Congress. Almost as if they are sure that Uncle Vlad will save the day for them ... again.

We haven't seen a lot of effects in education yet. Environment, yes, and I hate Ryan Zinke with every fibre of my being. But I have no hope whatsoever that any other Republican president would be doing differently, alas.

I figure that if we can hang in there until there is a purge of corrupt republican (apology for the redundancy) congress-critters, we can remediate the damage. My worry is that no such purge will happen as long as Russia is allowed free rein to muck with our elections.

That is a concern, though at present it seems like all they really did was push at an already ambivalent voting public; no one can deny that the vote was pretty close in the most contested spaces.

Gary Cohn Is Out

That list is less impressive as just saying:

- acting attorney general
- NSA
- white house communication director x3
- FBI director
- Whatever Cohn was (commerce or some junk)

While threatening the current FBI director and his own Attorney General and Asst Attorney General.

This is cream of the crop of Admin and Governance. And in just 14 months.

Oh and Futures are trading down about 330 pts at the moment.

Think tomorrow would be a good day to buy equities?

So is Gus the field goal kicking mule available to take over for Cohn?

Whatever one may think of Cohn, he was qualified for the job. And considering that Rick Perry thought the Department of Energy had something to do with oil in Texas, is it really that unreasonable to think that tomorrow we'll be introduced to some kind of farm animal with a MAGA hat glued to its head?

Trump wanted his pilot to head the FAA. Maybe his accountant or bookkeeper...

Sorry. I should have put my Cohn thread here. Merged.

Cohn thread - cone head.

Thanks, Starwater, for reminding me.

Jared's lost his security clearance.

You probably don't need one of those to be the head of the Council of Economic Advisors...

Disagree. Cohn was the least unqualified for the position. That his resignation indicates the braintrust is leaving is bad.

Thought today is that many more of the council will be leaving too since they were picked to be there by Cohn.
