What Are You Eating Today?

I found a plant "meat" that is pretty good.
Rollin Greens.
Made from pea protein.

This came out OK. Boneless chicken thigh on the bottom. Cut onions in the middle and potato slices on top with pasta sauce. Next time I'll probably microwave the potato for a bit before cooking. Once the potatoes were fully cooked the chicken was a bit overcooked. At least in was tender under all that moisture instead of dried out.

It was about 90 minutes at 400F.

Speaking of chicken. I made chicken cacciatore last week. First time I ever had it. I was unimpressed.

Surf & Turf for valentines day, cooked at home because I do steak better than most restaurants. Ribeye medium-rare, snow crab clusters (no king available), smashed potatoes, and corn.

Leftovers tonight!

One of my favourite salads for lunch.

The following chopped into roughly 1cm cubes.

Carrot, continental cucumber, celery, green apple, pear, capsicum, dill pickles.

Add well drained beans (red kidney and cannelloni beans this week, and a can of corn.

I make up this base on a Sunday and scoop out a serve adding an egg, some grated Parmesan and some dressing the night before and it’s ready.

Not eating, but drinking.

A friend from the UK is visiting for a few days, and he is a cider drinker. He (like me) prefers his cider very dry, but the Australian market caters mostly for sweet cider drinkers.

So tonight I am selflessly drinking ciders to determine which is driest.

The Mercury Original is surprisingly sweet; The Young Henry's Cloudy is a bit drier; But the winner in this round is Magners Original Irish Cider, which is actually made in Ireland.
