The article says that only 6% of the problematic loans had any connection to the CRA.

While I don't know the percentage I have no problem with the number but it is not a refutation by any means. The CRA was merely the spark, not the fire.

According to this, I can't tell the true legitimacy of the stats yet, 56% of foreclosures between '07 and '09 were white people. That would mean 44% were not white. During that time, blacks and Hispanics foreclosed at a rate of 790 and 769 per every 10,000 loans, whites were 452 per every 10,000. Higher, yes, but it is hardly "the minorities" getting loans that was the issue.
