Makes you wonder if they felt any pangs of guilt at all when receiving the prize, knowing they had gotten there by stealing someone else's work. Or how they justified to themselves what they did as being right.

They all contributed in some way. They all should have received the prize.
It is believed that science is an open collaborative effort, and more than other things it is. But there is fierce competition to get your name attached to ideas that are new and revolutionary. That is the human element.
This was a discovery we were getting closer and closer to as the technology to look at molecules increased.
Somebody was going to discover this soon.
The people who did were not geniuses like Einstein or Newton, they were highly intelligent and had the right training and interests and most importantly lucky timing.

Yes, they all contributed.
Their moral fault is to have insulted her in print and stolen her credit; one in order to achieve another act of villainy.
The problem is a Nobel prize cannot be given post mortem.
The honorable thing to do is create an honorary Nobel (with no money attached) to correct this grievance. I wouldn't bet on that happening.
