The Food Nazi Says NO SHRIMP FOR YOU: How One State Plans to Feed the Poor.

There are ALWAYS strings attached, c'mon we all know that. Look at how it's "helped" the mentally disabled.

And what kind of person gets upset because their free food curing their hunger pains didn't include shrimp?? -- "I can't have it because you won't buy it for me" - that's their childlike mentality.

Does anyone here think that people using EBT cards will use them on shrimp? The assumption being that poor people are too stupid to of their own volition choose to stretch their food dollar. Does anyone believe that?

I do know a few who are that stupid, but besides the point lol.

I'm totally not against feeding the hungry. I actually visit homeless shelters myself to give out clothes and food. I just believe it's important for people to understand that the system doesn't love the people it provides for.

I know stupid people in all SES levels, But as you say, that's beside the point.

That's nice. But charity doesn't end poverty, solidarity does. Where do you stand on debt relief, access to higher education, protections against eviction, universal child care, and right to be fired without cause laws, to begin?

they know. But don't take my word for it, next time you're down at the homeless shelter, talk to the people who aren't just visiting. They will tell you.
