The Big Beautiful Ballroom

"Mr McCrery will remain as a consultant." I'm surprised he's not unfairly indicted for mortgage fraud and deported to Timbuktu.

US President Donald Trump has hired a new architect to oversee the construction of a vast ballroom at the White House, officials said.

Following reports that Trump had clashed with the previous architect, James McCrery, over the size and scope of the addition, the White House said architects Shalom Baranes Associates will take over the project. Mr McCrery will remain as a consultant.

The East Wing was demolished in October to make way for Trump's multi-million dollar ballroom, which the White House has called a "much needed and exquisite addition".
Isn't it traditional to draw up a design for the new works before starting in on the demolition and site clearance?

I mean, some minor design changes are inevitable during any large project, but surely a decision on the approximate size and scope of the project is needed before any on-site work can sensibly begin?

Not just traditional but kinda expected I'd think. But Trump is a 3 year old piece of Garbage.
Three year olds are cute and adorable.

Unless you literally mean a three year old piece of garbage, in which case, I agree. Rumor has it that he smells of old diaper.

This part I don’t believe at all:

…the ruling represents a significant setback for Trump…
Somebody actually holding him accountable? In Trump world, that’s an enormous setback.
Depends what you think accountability looks like. I have yet to see much happen to Trump
That looks like real accountability for his many discretions and crimes.

It appears that Trump having the east wing torn down may have been illegal.

Trump doing something illegal.. I'm SHOCKED!

The National Trust for Historic Preservation, a congressionally chartered non-profit tasked with preserving historic buildings, said it was bringing the suit because its previous letter urging a pause on the project had gone unheeded.

The group, which alleges the construction project is “unlawful,” is asking the US District Court for the District of Columbia to halt further activity until the administration complies with review processes, including a public comment period.

The suit names Trump as a defendant, along with the National Park Service, the Department of Interior, and the General Services Administration, along with officials who work in those agencies. The case is assigned to District Judge Richard Leon, a George W. Bush appointee.

So, have they started construction on the new ballroom yet. Can’t wait to see its greatness!!
Temu Hitler needs his grand project.
The Volkshalle (German pronunciation:[ˈfɔlksˌhalə], "People's Hall"), also called Große Halle ([ˌɡʁoːsə ˈhalə], "Great Hall") or Ruhmeshalle ([ˈʁuːməsˌhalə], "Hall of Glory"), was a proposal for a monumental, domed building to be built in a reconstituted Berlin (renamed as Germania) in Nazi Germany. The project was conceived by Adolf Hitler and designed by his architect Albert Speer. No part of the building was ever constructed.
