Show them examples of the benefits of literacy- "lead" by example. At the very least, the idea of preserving oral histories and traditions seems to be pretty universally appealing to humans. I might also show them, however, how technologically advanced, literate societies tend to destroy the environments they live in. Then they can decide for themselves what to do.
Chances are, a society of naked illiterates in the 21st century is probably quite stable, and outside influences could destablize the society. I think that every human being on Earth should be able to make an informed choice about how they live, but it's important to know that the advantages of living in a sophisticated modern society come at a pretty steep price. It's not primitive tribesmen who threaten the world through nuclear or environmental disaster- it's advanced societies that do that.
And who cares what they wear? I'd walk around completely naked most of the time if it were socially acceptable.

Forcing people to do stuff isn't civilising them. Europe tried that in the 18'th and 19'th century. It didn't go so well. It turned out that Europeans weren't the world's most civilised people spreading their wisdom. It turned out that they were mostly just arrogant arses.
I recall Europeans trying to civilise the Arabs in the early 20'th century. When you can figure out why that was inappropriate, then you'll understand why it's inappropriate trying to get Amazonian people to wear clothes, they don't want.
The word of the day is "chauvinism". You are a chauvinist Syed. Please stop. Especially since the Quran is pretty adamant against it. Stay humble Syed. It's what the Quran calls for.

Maybe the solution is to make Syed and all the Arab people go naked. The Europeans had the wrong idea the first time. Since then they've been embroiled in numerous wars and have themselves committed heinous acts. I think that a little time going naked and modeling their culture after that of isolated tribes in the Amazon would bring great improvement to their barbaric and tyrannical religious dictatorships.

Yeah, I'm Canadian. I'm going to have to remember what vaguely-car-shaped lump of snow is mine tonight after work and dig it out, and clothes definitely help for this. Definitely doesn't feel "civilized" though to have to scrape ice off your windshield. Peacefully fishing naked on a tropical island seems WAY more civilized than this sometimes, but I'm usually pretty tired of winter by the time March comes around so I'm definitely romanticizing this a bit...

This is an interesting point. Syed seems to think that the only relationship a modern society could have with a tribal one is where we teach them our ways, and they listen. Any group of two cultures has much to learn from each other. I don't want to change people to be more like me, I want to learn from them and have them learn about me. Honestly, I think I'd have the most to gain, speaking with a hypothetical tribesman. He could tell me in detail about all the local wildlife, how his society is organized, what it means to be human from his perspective. I could tell him a lot about Star Trek. It's not really a fair exchange...

do you think people started wearing clothes to protect themselves from the elements or do you think humans invented clothing to keep other people from seeing their naughty bits?
if the elements don't require clothes for protection then there's no reason to force people to wear them.

Yes, Syed. Religion made innocent people do a lot of things under threat of death/harm. You are certainly correct about that part.
But you have failed to support your premise - that your choice of clothing makes a person "civilized"
