In honor of that, here is the Star Wars theme done entirely in electric guitars:

Anyway, I figure there's going to be a thread on this sooner or later, so might as well start one now.

No one is going to express opinions about the upcoming movie, or at least express anticipation? Expectations?

I don't have my tickets yet. I'm going to wait to hear the word on whether Han, Chewy, or Luke dies. If one of those characters dies, it may be months before I see it. It's not something I want to watch.

looking forward to seeing it. Here's my guess on some of the plot:

Caution - potential spoiler

We know that both Luke and Leah both have the force in them. One (or both) will turn evil. Maybe Luke or Leah with be the new master or the new Vader.

I don't think I've seen Luke in any of the trailers.

I haven't been this excited about an upcoming since the weeks before Episode One came out.

I take it as given that at least one of them will kick the bucket. They have to make an emotional connection somehow, and that's the easiest way.

I am eagerly anticipating this installment. I'm not sure if I will see it the day it comes out, or wait a week or two until the crowds die down. It depends on whether or not I can get good seats at the local Bistro theater through the interwebs, and that depends on when they finally post the movie times.

It looks like it is going to be a great movie, or at the very least, not an complete trainwreck like Episode 1. Disney seems to be doing the right things with it, and as long as JJ Abrams can be reined in to the point that the action scenes can actually be followed, I have high hopes. If my hopes are dashed by the reality of the movie, that's it, I'n done. No more Star Wars for me (at least until episode 8 comes out).

I agree. If this movie sucks, I am totally boycotting Star Wars movies until the next Star Wars movie is released.

That'll learn em.

Yeah, but they won't stay dead most likely. He/she will be brought back somehow a la Mr. Spock in Wrath of Khan. Or later we'll find out the whole Star Wars serial was just a dream, a la Bobby Ewing in Dallas.

I'm quickly growing tired of all the merchandising tie-ins. It's like hearing Christmas Carols in stores in the first week of November. By the time such things are appropriate, I'm sick of them and want nothing to do with them.

But I have my tickets already purchased for December 18th like a good worker bee.

If they could, I'm sure they would. But the actors aren't getting any younger and they aren't that charismatic anymore. Have you looked at Mark Hamill or Carrie Fisher Recently? And even Harrison Ford is over seventy - that's old enough to be a Democratic presidential candidate, not a swashbuckling action hero.

On the bright side, the droids will never be killed off. Chewbacca is probably also going to hang around for quite a long time.

The guy you see in the helmet is Kylo Ren.

Kylo is definitely not Luke or Leia, but a user of the dark side who has an obsession with Darth Vader.

What is interesting is that the filmmakers have said that Kylo is not a Sith, but part of a new ideology different from the Sith.

Further, the ideology of those who use the light side will have differences as well, so Finn (Boyega) will not be a proper Jedi.

I'm actually looking forward to this aspect of Episode VII. I hope the ideological changes will be interesting.

Babylon 5 reboot!!!

Naw, the three of them will be sitting on a porch talking about the good ole days when things were better and yelling at kids to get the fuck off their lawn. Han Solo will shoot a kid that hadn't even stepped on his lawn yet. If one of them died, you probably wouldn't mind at that point.

I was curious and checked to see if Wedge would be in VII. Wedge was my favorite character mainly because he was a nobody character in the films that managed to survive every film. From a quick look online, he (the actor, not the actual fighter pilot who died a long time ago in a galaxy far far away) was approached about being in VII, but declined.

Seen it!

Cons: Seen it all before.

Pros: You won't care about that.

Basically episode 4, with episodes 1,2 and three thrown in. What's old is new though, and it does feel fresh and exciting. And in at least one way, an end of an era. But you must see that yourself.

Edit: No after credit scene.

It wouldn't make much sense for Nick Fury to be involved, so that makes sense.

Darn, I was looking forward to it. The Nick Fury scenes are the best thing about Star Trek movies.

If Nick Fury isn't in it, then who gets the motherfucking snakes off of the motherfucking Star Destroyer?

Wait. Don't tell me. I'm seeing it this weekend and don't want any spoilers.
