Let me know when you're in the area, we'll go downtown and watch the Scientologists scurry around the few blocks they own, all dressed alike and scared as hell to talk to anyone. The " company church has a lot less influence and power than they used to, and people really aren't afraid of them anymore. Hell, I'm still surprised they get any new converts. The Thinking Atheist did a show on them last week that was fun and informative.

Nevertheless, you're correct, this is serious business. People are being bilked and lives are being ruined by a cult originally created by a third rate, penny a word author with an intense narcissist streak. Not exactly an enlightened individual. If you are part of this cult, I encourage you to use your critical faculties without excuse with regards to your own religion. View it as an outsider would. Educate yourself.
