Republicans Seem To Have A Big Pedophile Problem

AFAIK there aren't other accusations of Democrat pedophiles.

There have been. Like with Republicans, they have been mostly local officials.

You're conveniently forgetting all of the examples connected to Churches.

Churches, schools. There are for too many of that filth everywhere.

My husband brought up a recent study indicating 1 in 40 had problems with that.

The issue is as I have been trying to describe, in that it's less about someone's initial political stance and more about what their expected political stance is, because initially, they think they can pray it away, and eventually they come to the understanding that their excessive religiousity would at least give them a shield against exposure and criticism.

Some time later still, they realize that everyone else like them had the same idea and they're surrounded by allies in the church who will protect them under their guise and cover.

The places meant to actually be safe end up to be minefields where hidden predators abound because people are bad at discerning fake religion as a predator's mask.

For those who have this issue of being unable to discern the two, my only advice is to look for those who hide their "messy" qualities behind an excessively "proper" front; for the people who go to churches attended by those who believe they are righteous and truly separate from the world; for the people who talk about what "values" they would like you to believe they have.

Pretty much every time you run into someone who uses religion to advertise their own image, you're gonna be looking at someone you probably shouldn't trust with your kids/wallet/computer.

If you want to look for people doing religion as correctly as religion can be done, they're the ones holding up religion to show how far they are from righteousness or whatever, those who are a bit ashamed of who they aren't and who are striving openly to be better.

My personal experience is that some very bad people can be mostly good or good presenting but like all of us, they are flawed. Some flaws are very very much worse than others, with sexual abuse of children being among the very very worst. God fearing people can truly believe or at least tell themselves very convincingly that it is Satan who is tempting their very flawed family member, just as Satan tempted Christ. We all just need to pray harder….

Alternatively, it is Satan tempting innocent children to tell vicious lies about beloved member of the flock. Prayer is called for and sometimes, expellling the offending liars.

Not therapy. Not police.

Prayer is the answer.

Well, that's the point: when someone is afraid to show their flaws as their flaws, to wear who they are as who they are and to service the reality and accept that others will see their flaws, that makes me suspect strongly that they are on the "good presenting" side.

Because being *actually* good doesn't mean not presenting flaws openly, it means presenting those flaws openly and openly working around them and mitigating them just as openly, and avoiding the trappings of "theatrics".

So when you see someone not presenting their flaws openly, or even putting emphasis on the theatrical display of those flaws, well, it's not a good look trying to put on a "good look".

It's so damn difficult to actually be good rather than to accept a substitute that merely "looks good".

It's kind of like the difference between a kitchen that IS clean and a kitchen that LOOKS clean. Sometimes the clean kitchen won't look clean. Sometimes the clean-looking kitchen is a health hazard. It's the same with people, really, and a naive opinion of what looks good is one of the most dangerous things in the world.
