Sadly, there are quite a few Americans who seem enamored by the idea of Oprah for president. I'm hoping she's just having a little fun right now by pretending she might actually be interested in running, but considering that Mark Cuban has also considered a serious run for prez, who knows anymore? Maybe American politicians are just too too boring, by most folk's standards. For some reason, American presidential candidates need to have a charismatic personality in order to gain votes. That seems to be more important than knowledge and experience. I don't get it.

I have seen very few people who are for Oprah for president, come to think of it, I don't think I've seen one firm supporter. The vast majority of the reactions from my many democratic friends on FB was a firm NO. A few said she would be okay but was far from their first choice.

Pride, I was wondering much the same thing.

I will say, however, that I've met Oprah - actually had the pleasure of spending a decent amount of time talking to and observing her, as well as exchanging a couple of emails. I have high respect for her as a person. I don't agree her woo, but I believe that her heart is in the right place. (That alone is a huge improvement over the heartless orange troll we are stuck with currently). I found her to be honest and hardworking, warm, sincere, and genuinely caring. Those are good qualities to have in a leader.

That said, I don't think she has the practical knowledge to be President, and would not vote for her in a primary if she were to run. But she would be a far better than any Republican anyone could name because at least she cares about people.

Everything that you said is BS. Take education, in most democratic states (in particular Washington, OR, and California) community colleges are free for state residents with passing grades. We live in Washington - a heavy democratic state. My daughter will get her AA free at our community college. Are they free in Texas? No. Are they free in Arkansas? No. The state education system is under incredible stress due to federal cuts to education. HRC wanted to lower costs. What has Trump done? He and the republican congress are cutting cutting.

Democrats are far far from perfect. But they are doing what they can with flacky support and an opposing party that is winning...
