Monuments to Robert E. Lee

Nathan Bedford Forrest was only a cavalry officer.

Nathan Bedford Forrest was only a cavalry officer.

With an independent command. He wasn't just doing recon, as Stuart was most of the time. Forrest is considered a military genius. Stuart was talented, but hasn't the same impact on military history.

Besides, with his KKK credentials, Forrest scores very high on the heritage scale.

Besides, Stuart arguably lost Gettysburg for Lee. Rode himself right out of the campaign. If he had been around when he was needed, Lee might've been able to turn Meades position.

I find it curious that, if the monument in Georgia is about 'heritage, not hate,' that it would include Stonewall Jackson over the equally (if not more) important James Longstreet, who actually was from Georgia.

Could it be because after the war, Longstreet became a Republican? So much for 'heritage, not hate.'

That would be hysterical if they did. During Lincoln's timer, the Republicans were the liberals.

You misunderstand me. Longstreet DID become a republican, and the republicans WERE the liberals, and the south DID blacklist him for that reason. I merely stated it as a question as a rhetorical device.
