That would be Sen. Eric Schmitt of Missouri. What a douche nozzle. Another senator suggested he should apologize; I kinda doubt he will. Slimeballs like this are probably not embarrassed by their own incompetence, and they certainly don't care if their lies and crazy conspiracy theories harm their victims.

They printed up a poster board but then pulled it away before anybody could read it. When smith and even another senator asked to see it Schmitt refused to have it seen again. I’m sure there will be a screen grab somewhere to demonstrate his stupidity.

Being forced to waste his time entertaining the dumb questions of a bunch of clueless dimwits is the punishment.
They don't need to find evidence of any wrongdoing, much less concict him of anything, because the punishment preceeds any such findings - or, as in this case, no such findings.
It's like trying a witch with the ducking stool - if she's innocent, she drowns anyway. So sad, our bad.
Presumably Jack isn't being paid for his time - though when they find no hint of illegality, perhaps he should bill them for it.

This is like a lawyer utterly unprepared for cross examination in a court room and it utterly backfires. The whole exchange is utterly bizarre. He should start firing staffers who came up with this whole crap. What the fuck were they thinking?
Klobuchar called on him to apologize and but of course he wouldn’t. Now he’s trying to back track on the whole thing on talk shows, saying we will see. He answered what he answered. No shit Sherlock. This is incredibly poor. It will sour the rest of the proceedings.
Eric Schmitt is a lawyer. You pull shit like this in court, and you could lose your law license. He used a false statement to try to impeach a witness and said he committed perjury. Holy shit. That’s a serious ethical violation for a lawyer. He’ll probably claim ignorance, but that wouldn’t work in a court of law, where judges expect you to be prepared thoroughly. Someone should file an ethics complaint with the Missouri bar.
