Oh shit. I mentioned Chelsea as a presidential candidate as a joke assuming that the Democrats were as sick of political family dynasties as the Republicans were for this election evidenced by them quickly dumping Jeb Bush and the Bush family.

Please tell me that Chelsea isn't considering building up a political resume so she can run for President.

Seriously, I don't think this run for political office is Chelsea's idea. I think her parents and their disciples are trying to push her into something she doesn't want

It wouldn't be the continuation of a dynasty, as Chelsea is really Web Hubbell's kid, not Bill Clinton's.

It would hardly be a surprise either way.

Lots of people end up in their parents professions. Some grow to hate it, but feel pressured to do as is expected of them. Others find it fascinating simply because they have seen it up close all their lives.

Whether you are a doctor, a lawyer, a military officer, a politician or a welder, having access to parental teaching, and having the pre-existing list of contacts and reputation by association and name recognition, makes following your parents the path of least resistance.

Of course, many children want to do better than their parents. But in the field of politics, it's hard to go much higher than POTUS.

Political dynasties are inevitable.
