There are a lot of words that are ambiguous and/or ill-defined. Jewish is a culture, a religion, a part of a complex ethnicity structure, etc. So an atheist Jew, while probably used by the right as an insult, can be a valid thing such as a weak atheist who has an Ashkenazi Jewish ethnicity.

Judaism is a problem in that involves a sort of nationality and a religion. We can't blame Zionism on Judaism, nor do I praise Judaism for the very large number of hugely-admirable and progressive persons who still get circumcised. Like 'being' anything it must be a problem. I think, though, that to distinguish religious from ex-religious people is the only sensible approach.

The issue is that the DNC hand-picked a favorite and then undermined the alleged democracy within the party in a close primary. Actually in this case, they did nothing of the sort. Oh, these people talked about the possibility of using Sanders' religion (or lack thereof) in order to swing some votes, but the issue was never brought up. Had there been ads or mailers or a whisper campaign disparaging Bernie as an atheist, then this revelation would be damning, but clearly the notion was rejected by the DNC.

Furthermore, the use of the word "interfering" is an odd choice, considering that the Democratic National Committee is the governing body of the Democratic Party. It organizes the convention and formulates the platform. They're not some interloper from outside attempting to "rig" the process.

Negative kimosabe. Some at the top of the DNC (Schultz) favored HRC. Not all. No election is ever perfect. There are many democrats who favored Bernie. HRC just got more votes, had more support than Sanders. Secondly, if Sanders only lost due to Schultz and other meanies using religious discrimination, he would get destroyed by Trump. Trump will be far more vicious. Finally, polling on outsiders in August before every election is very reliable. His popularity would have decreased over time just like with Perot and other outsiders.

The republicans lose on the issues, they win by driving wedges in the democratic party. I guaranty you that they will do everything they can to exploit this issue. I also expect full congressional investigations. Ironically, I think that republicans are far more divided than democrats today. Bernie did a great service moving the party left, as I'd want it moved.
