Republican Caught On Camera Gerrymandering His Own District On 9/11, Viral Thread Shows

Passing a vetoed budget after tricking Democrats into leaving for a 9/11 memorial ceremony wasn’t the only shenanigans that North Carolina Republicans got into last Wednesday. They also held a redistricting session (better known as gerrymandering) which was caught live and posted to the North Carolina General Assembly YouTube channel.

Executive Director at National Democratic Redistricting Committee John Bisognano outlined how Republican Senator John Alexander attempted to turn a strongly Democratic district red by cutting a huge section into a neutral map.
