I'm fine with owning that I don't give a damn that he died (at 99 years old and filthy rich). I will shed my tears for 17 more children and teachers killed by evangelical support for the NRA.

Too bad old Billy wasn't much of a family man. I have my own personal baggage from that dotard. It's hard to feel all grief stricken when any one that old dies. Most of us will never get to see 99.

But all this stuff about 'America's Preacher' just amounts to saying that he was ubiquitous as Betty Crocker from the 40s through the 80s. What he was preaching was daffy. As H.L. Mencken wrote the week that William Jennings Bryan died, his death didn't change the fact that he was a zany.

My favorite bit about him was what bothered him about the Watergate scandal. Not the crookedness of Richard Nixon and his henchmen. But Nixon's profanity. "Expletive deleted" became a national joke back then.

While I won't claim to be bothered that he died after reaching such an old age, I wasn't gleeful about it either. Now maybe if his leach of a son had died, I might have toasted Loki. At least Graham was reasonably honest financially and didn't have any sexual affairs that I am aware of...
