Emailgate - Uh Oh. None Dare Call it Conspiracy?

I know that Hillary is the only politician who hasn't followed our e-mail security protocols (just as her husband was the only husband who's ever cheated on his wife). However, part of my reluctance to not get super excited about this issue is that I've probably made the same mistake. My company has e-mail security rules, and I'm sure that I've been lazy and violated them. It's not that I'm a saboteur. But more that I get busy, I just tend to get lazy with security risks that I deem as unnecessary. Sure the rules are now on the books, but it takes people some time to catch up to all the rules. I will bet that 30 days after the November election that it will be revealed that amount of politicians who've committed the same "crime" is very high.

Again, I'll be making my political decision based on the issues: economy, supreme court, national defense, economic development, social rights, and etc.

Your casual experience is nothing like this. The government has separate classified systems for handing confidential national security and diplomatic information. Literally completely parallel systems. Instead of using these systems Hillary used her own homebrew server. Now that it's up to more than 1000 occasions it can't be dismissed as a casual oopsie. It's a bogus claim anyway because virtually all high level discussion about discussions with foreign governments is classified and as secretary of state she would know this. Her "none of it was marked classified" is a silly Clintonian parsing defense. It does not matter what it was marked, it matters is she should have reasonably known the material was sensitive.

I think the tension here is that there are thousands of people in government who are constantly being told to be disciplined in their handling of confidential information at the cost of inconvenience. The FBI and inspectors general can't just act like this is no big deal if they want to maintain the culture of discipline throughout the ranks. On the other hand, Hillary is wealthy, powerful, prominent and seems to feel as if the rules that apply to the little people aren't for her. She may turn out to be right.

Well, Jesus Fuck, why do we even bother with a sensationalist media then, if you're going to make a mockery of the system!?!?!

I know. Some people just don't take politics seriously enough to be willing to wade into the inane crap that is sensational BS. Seems the scandal isn't around whether Clinton gave sensitive information to those who wouldn't have our Nation's best interests in mind. It is whether she sent an email at all with information that may have been classified at the time of sending.

So in the end it has been just another Whitewater, the initial investigations found nothing, so they keep moving to the next moving target. And this is the worst they could find.

Unfortunately, this won't be the worst they can find. They will find more. They will time it carefully to correspond with the election. I expect a "major revelation" every two months until the election. The republicans can't win on the issues. And the demographics are against them. And Trump is destroying their party. There will be more to come....

How? They've been investigating her since '93.

Naw, they already tried to bury her, then had her come to her downfall hearing, which turned into her coronation.

There is no longer any question of this. There are over 1000 classified emails on her private system, some of them at the highest levels.

This is easily available information in the news reports.

Many more men intimidated by a smart strong woman,go figure!
You should meet my big sister!

"Bridgegate" is actually a rather big deal (in an amazingly petty sort of way).
Could be. I just have a hard time caring about the event exactly because of the 'gate.'
The circus about the event is entertaining, sort of, but at the core it seems...bleh.

Kind of like if someone takes their cousin to the Prom.
If their cousin turns out to be Megan fox, that is a big deal, sorta, but at the core, it's still someone taking a cousin to their prom...

What we really need is evidence that several news outlets are conspiring to apply the 'gate' suffix to scandals in order to manipulate public outcry. Then Gategate-gate will be the final use...

Really too bad Robert Gates wasn't involved in a scandal involving the Golden Gate bridge.

While some forum members dwell in the darkest caverns of deep denial ... fuming over being "sick and tired of hearing..." the scandal continues to advance into new and ever more dangerous legal territory for her highness. The FBI's has now revealed it expanded into a CRIMINAL probe on the Clinton Foundation and its dealings with the State Department, since April of 2015:

The FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of private email as secretary of state has expanded to look at whether the possible “intersection” of Clinton Foundation work and State Department business may have violated public corruption laws, three intelligence sources not authorized to speak on the record told Fox News.

This track is in addition to the focus on classified material found on Clinton’s personal server.

“The agents are investigating the possible intersection of Clinton Foundation donations, the dispensation of State Department contracts and whether regular processes were followed,” one source said.

Over 100 agents have now been assigned to the probe, 50 temporarily assigned as the probe has expanded. And its been reported that pressure grows on the DOJ:

One intelligence source told Fox News that FBI agents would be “screaming” if a prosecution is not pursued because “many previous public corruption cases have been made and successfully prosecuted with much less evidence than what is emerging in this investigation.”

The FBI is particularly on edge in the wake of how the case of former CIA Director David Petraeus was handled.

One of the three sources said some FBI agents felt Petraeus was given a slap on the wrist for sharing highly classified information with his mistress and biographer Paula Broadwell, as well as lying to FBI agents about his actions. Petraeus pled guilty to a misdemeanor in March 2015 after a two-plus-year federal investigation in which Attorney General Eric Holder initially declined to prosecute. …

By contrast, in the Clinton case, the number of classified emails has risen to at least 1,340. A 2015 appeal by the State Department to challenge the “Top Secret” classification of at least two emails failed and, as Fox News first reported, is now considered a settled matter.

Yep...time for Hillary, Bill, and/or her aides to practice the perp walk.

fuming over being "sick and tired of hearing..."
Fuming?
I dunno who's fuming.

I'd have to work up some energy to be so far gone as to be apathetic.

Finding that someone unnamed told someone at Fox that somewhere, some time in the future, there may be some sort of prosecution, that's hardly a Sword of Damocles yet, is it?

Yep...time for Hillary, Bill, and/or her aides to practice the perp walk.

All this because he's a fan of FAUX News. Does maxparrish know why they call the rest main stream media? How about picking up your AK-4 7 hnd going to Burns Oregon where you can be among others as well informed.

Don't forget to bring tampons.

You're quoting fox news to make your point? That's funny. When she doesn't walk the perp walk, will you give up on Fox?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Hillary get pulled out of the way for Bernie. Then we'd have a president worth having. And max and Derec and whoever else would just have to face it that their party loses if Hillary goes to jail over this.

Well, to be fair, their party loses even if Hillary doesn't go to jail for this. They really have no path to victory any which way.
