Well, given his well-known, long-running, and severe drug issues (including a lot of crack), this is unfortunately how I saw him ending up.

Admittedly, I didn't *love* his music as much as other rappers, but there was usually a certain excuberance to him at his best that was infectious. There's lots of clips of him with his kids, or singing at someone else's concert, just enjoying things, that you often don't see in other musicians.
