As many of us predicted Sanders is indeed having a good deal of influence over the Democratic platform. Clinton has already unveiled a Tuition plan that has Sanders fingerprints all over it, and the platform has also embraced ending the death penalty. So, instead of still whining about the rigged system Sanders supporters need to get off their asses and make sure they elect a democratic congress or none of this shit is going to happen.

Most of them seem like they would rather yammer on about the coming revolution, which the only way they would be involved would be if it takes place on World of Warcraft.

If this and the free tuition doesn't bring over Sanders, HRC should just give up on him.

Today the Sanders delegates were able to negotiate acceptable language for a pathway to decriminalization of weed. That'll make em happy too!

According to a CNN chyron (sp?), Bernie will endorse Hillary on Tuesday. He got just about everything he wanted onto the party platform except for trade issues, especially the TPP.

Also Clinton re-emphasized her support for the "public option" to be added to Obamacare, to which Sander's tweeted his enthusiastic support.

But again, without congress this is all just empty rhetoric.

I wouldn't call it empty rhetoric as long as there's still the possibility the Dems will win back Congress. After all the platform is intended to attract voters.

Here is an interesting thing, once Sanders makes a passionate speech in support of Clinton (or more importantly the party platform) tomorrow, Trump is in serious deep shit because one of things likely holding Clinton right back was the enthusiastic support for her by the youth. With that support mobilized, I can see her poll numbers shooting up to 50% with Trump dropping a point or two and this could be the second sign of things going terribly wrong for Trump and the Republicans. The War for the House will be on.

Yes, that was what I meant when I said "without congress".

Yes, but what I'm seeing is tepid support coupled with a healthy dose of skepticism. What I am emphasizing to them is that they must continue the pressure on government if they want to keep their revolution alive. As soon as they ease up they will lose all they have gained because the other side is not easing up.

OK. Platform with no apology for trade, path to weed, $15 minimum pay, public option, and Warren as running mate. If Sanders supporters aren't enthusiastic and angry white males aren't pissed I'm moving Ukraine for some political action.

Brave New capitalist-socialist morning in 'Merica.

We must win the House in '16, which will take a massive effort. We then must hold the House in '18, and start taking back State Legislatures.

More than that, we really need the young voters to step up-if they want change they will have to make a long term commitment to that end. They have been, for the most part, brought up in an environment of instant gratification, and they must realize that isn't how things work in a Republic made up of people with different views. Change comes slowly. Incrementally. Large victories are accomplished by many small victories. My favorite saying from Bill Clinton was that our country has been built on the things we agree on, not on the things we disagree on.

Sustaining the effort is crucial! We scrimped, compromised, didn't try the W Admin for any crimes to get majorities in '06, and larger in '08. Then it just fell to pieces in '10 when Republicans convinced enough that health care was a bad thing.

Most of them seem like they would rather yammer on about the coming revolution, which the only way they would be involved would be if it takes place on World of Warcraft.

You mean actually leave the safety of my garrison? You have got to be kidding me.

Yes, I was. You may relax.

What happened in '10 was what bothers me. Many who put Obama in office bailed on him when he wasn't able to give them everything they wanted. I think, and I hope I'm wrong, that they'll do the same thing in the future. Many of Sander's supporters don't seem to know what they want, when you see that 40% of them now say they either support Johnson or Trump. Johnson is about as far from Bernie as you can get, and Trump? Really?

My goal at this point in life is to whack Sanders supporters who want to vote for Trump now in the head until they get the point and don't vote for Trump.

Major credit to Sanders. He played his hand to maximum effect. I can't imagine him having played it any better. This is a guy who was laughed at as a joke when he announced his candidacy. He then took Hillary head on and was competitive with her. He then swayed her to adopt many of his policies into her platform. All without his own ego or demanding cabinet positions etc. It was all about the issues for him. This is the best politician in US politics in recent memory, if not ever.
