Both Togo and untermenshe seem to be more interested in telling us how Ridley and Lukewarmers are insufferably old school, as well as cavorting with "coal interests", rather than actually demonstrating that he/we are wrong. As I am someone who would rather be correct than modish, that sort of non-argument does not impress....

Answer: Probably for as long as there is a crusade against fossil fuels.

It starts with both a lie and a reason to distrust it's conclusions.

The lie that this is motivated by some crusade against oil.

And the claim that the models are unreliable means their conclusions based on models are unreliable.

But where is the evidence that the surface temperature has been dropping since about 1992?

Besides, I would never want to be called 'sceptic.' Which I gather is a British spelling of ’skeptic,’ but is too close to 'septic' for me.

Be careful taking to an Aussie ( or a Brit for that matter) - the rhyming slang for 'Yank' is 'Septic tank'. Yanks are often nick-named septics. And some your lot thoroughly deserve that appellation.
