Climate Change(d)?

We are constantly told how we are facing the most dangerous threat to the planet and we must stop our wicked ways.

A row over the definition of the term “gender” threatens to bog down pivotal talks at the Cop30 climate summit. Before the UN talks in Brazil, hardline conservative states have pushed to define gender as “biological sex” over their concerns trans and non-binary people could be included in a major plan to ensure climate action addresses gender inequality and empowers women. “These are unprecedented times to negotiate on gender equality and women’s empowerment,” said Lorena Aguilar, the executive director of the US-based Kaschak Institute for Social Justice for Women and Girls, and Costa Rica’s former vice minister for foreign affairs.

But there are other important things to worry about.

Hopefully they will figure out a way to save the planet.

I looked up the location of her district. It's along most of coastal Georgia, but it does include a lot of rural areas as well. I wonder if she'll change her mind if the coastal climate changes.

You still do not understand that climate changes naturally and there is variability?

There is no hope for you and your ilk.

But meanwhile, reality is starting to hit home as more and more countries start to back off the Net Zero religion.

I see. Climate changes natural, so humans can not affect climate?

Remember La smog before auto and industrial pollution contr4ols?

Today Delhi the capitol of India is becoming unlivable due to air pollution.

In Phoenix air conditioning has changed climate. Waste heat adds to heat to the city 'heat island' stored in bulldogs and concrete structures raising overall temperature increasing demand for air conditioning.

A runaway feedback loop.

To the extent humans affect climate/weather, it is miniscule.

Neither of these has anything to do with global climate. These are local environment problems. Los Angeles has improved a lot since its heavy smog days.

Phoenix is in a desert so of course there is demand for air conditioning otherwise people couldn't live there. I don't know why they do live there but live there they do. Palm Spring California is another city that has the same problem. But none of this has anything to do with climate change, it's bloody hot in the desert.

A runaway feedback loop.

lol, such drama!

Oooft, it is a catastrophic 65 degrees in Santa Monica and there is *gasp* RAIN!!!!!111!!!11!!!

You have no way to know that.
Minuscule compared to what?
Fact is, you’re just blowing ignorant smoke as usual.
it is a catastrophic 65 degrees in Santa Monica
The fact that you still conflate your local weather with global climate, puts your ignorance front and center in neon lights.

Climate catastrophe grifter Al Gore gets all bent out of shape because Bill Gates has realized the climate catastrophe religion is a pile of shyte.

Fear of being bullied by Donald Trump may have prompted Bill Gates to row back on the climate crisis, Al Gore has speculated, as he slammed the billionaire’s new position as “silly”, and the US president for his anti-climate stance. Trump, “the most corrupt president in American history”, was “badly damaging the US economy” by pulling away from renewable energy and promoting fossil fuels, the former US vice-president warned.
Gates, a philanthropist and founder of Microsoft, made waves around the worldwhen he publicly argued for pushing the climate crisis down the international agenda, in favour of more focus on health issues. Setting up the climate crisis and the global health crisis as opposing choices for intervention, as Gates appeared to do, was wrong, added Gore, saying: “The idea that there is a binary choice between health and climate is an idea that’s been roundly rejected by virtually every scientist in this field, and the World Health Organisation has said long since that climate is the No 1 health threat to humanity.”
