Chicago cop accused of framing at least 51 people for murder

As far as police forces go, I also have to think that the people who would have the sensitivity to be really great police officers, rarely become one.

Despite what they may claim, many police departments -- Chicago in particular -- aren't interested in hiring those kinds of people. They kind of go out of their way to screen out officers who don't share their "operational focus" or aren't a "good cultural fit" for their department.

Go ahead and ask me how I know this.

I'm sure I can guess, but...

How do you know this, Eddie?

As someone who has lived in the Chicagoland area for decades, my first response to this was "At least it wasn't yet another torture scandal!"

Seriously, we have had not one, but two George Bush-style torture scandals.
