California Doing California Things

So centrists, rather than growing up and taking some measure responsibility for the wellbeing of their democracy, chose to abandon their supposed party and throw their weight behind a neo-fascist egotist instead.
I don't think many centrist Democrats voted for Trump. Or do you have a [citation needed] that shows otherwise?

My understanding is that it was the leftist and Muslim Democrats who refused to vote for Kamala because she wasn't . Some voted for Trump, others voted for the likes of Jill Stein.

Do you really think that it was centrists who were responsible for that?

Are you saying that something should have been done about Swalwell sooner?
Iff he is guilty, absolutely. In that case these women should have gone to the police right away, and gotten any physical evidence collected.
You can't have any meaningful evidence when you wait eight years to make a claim.

The difference between Republicans and Democrats is that when you find out your politicians are criminals, you circle around to defend them against "lies" and "attacks". We don't.
You err in the other direction. You abandon people based on unproven allegations, and blow things out of proportion.

Take Al Franken. He was ran out of DC on a rail by his own party (insufferable Kirsten Gillibrand was the Chief Inquisitor) for the high crime of joking around while being a comedian.

Then you have your answer. Most women don't report, because most men are like you.
How do you know how many women don't report, or why they don't report? By definition, those alleged rapes are not reported.
You hear that four women have accused the same man of rape, and you think, wow! How does that guy know so many dishonest harlots?
If the claims were independent, you'd have a point. But they aren't, so we can't treat them as such.

The timing is also crucial here. The jungle primary field is busy this year, but two Republicans and three Democrats have been in double digits. That was dangerous for Democrats - what if the two Rs get #1 and #2 and advance to the general election? It would be a disaster. But nobody wanted to drop out, even the hopeless ones like Mahan, Villaraigosa and Barcerra.

So, qui bono? Right now, it seems to be Steyer, as he is on top in a recent poll. I smell ratfucking.

Pro-rape politics are not nearly as popular as they used to be, and the Democrats are prudent, not foolish, to keep pace with the public mood.
Women's bodies are not yours to use without their consent.
You really cannot even imagine that a man might be innocent of a rape accusation, can you?
Of course I can. The world isn't black and white.

That wasn't the question. Tswizzle was intimating that Swalwell should have been abandoned by his friends when all that was known about him was that he was "flirty".

2. If you ever wonder how the DNC pushes millions of voters away, your statement is an excellent example of why.
Don't know if you read the news, but you are definitely out of step with the public on this. The most common response to Swalwell stepping down is "good" followed by something along the lines of "at least the Democrats are not being hypocritical about this". Only a few people, all of them men, follow that up with "funny timing!" or other such jabs. Pro-rape politics are not nearly as popular as they used to be, and the Democrats are prudent, not foolish, to keep pace with the public mood.

I thought Swalwell was regarded as a rising star in the DNC despite rumors. Now all of a sudden it's "good riddance".

Funny old game, politics.
Because he was revealed to have sexually harassed multiple women, yes.

From what I have read so far, he had a bit of a reputation for "hitting on" women which certainly makes him a creep in my view. But that doesn't seem to have prevented his ascent.

The admission by Senator Ruben Gallego that he had heard, but disbelieved, rumors about Eric Swalwell and women showed the attitude on Capitol Hill toward men accused of behaving badly. Senator Ruben Gallego, Democrat of Arizona, acknowledged on Tuesday that he had long heard rumors that Representative Eric Swalwell was “flirty” with women, but had allowed his longtime friendship with the California Democrat to cloud his judgment and never said or did anything about it.

Flirty. He should have been hung from the town square.

Flirty is far from the same as drugging and raping women.

No, actually. But that was the claim being made, that otherwise uncommitted voters, outraged by "the Wokes", were pushed into Trump's waiting arms.
