2026 Mid-Term Elections

So Hong lost the primary in Wisconsin. Right-wing radio needed to do some creative spin.

Hong's loss is important. Further than comfortable to the Left candidates in areas not very liberal are not primed for state wide elections, in general, and especially in purple areas. So now it is an establishment candidate against a guy who voted to steal an election in 2020.
More news on Hong and her plans:

Devastating: Francesca Hong Forced To Return Home And Spend Time With Her White Son

MADISON, WI — After suffering a stunning electoral upset, a distraught Democratic governor hopeful Francesca Hong will be forced to return home and spend time with her white son.

Hong has described the horrific effects of being that close to whiteness, stating that her son is a constant reminder of all the terrors of colonialism, Thanksgiving, and firm handshakes.

"Seeing his whiteness, all I can think about is the evil stored in his skin," Hong said. "When he was born, I didn't realize just how painful it would be to see his face. I'm lucky to have been educated enough to know how much to hate him. But now I have to go be his mom again, which is the worst fate in history."

Would Carl Sagan have 1. Thought this was funny and 2. Shared anything like this? Hmmm, I don't think he would've.

Thanks for sharing that sickening satire.
Yes, this "sickening satire" is a little over the top. The key word here, though, is satire. The satire was created in response to her rather sickening real life comments over several years regarding white people, and her dragging her half white young son into her public lunacy. Ya gotta wonder if her son has developed resentment over his dad (and himself) being white (or half white). Hopefully, she keeps her views to herself while alone with her family.
I wonder about a lot of things including why anyone would think such “satire” was remotely on point about anything other than low standards of the author, website and targeted audience.

Apparently hatred and bigotry against Muslims is considered to be a winning campaign strategy in Michigan, the state with the most Muslims in the entire country.
33% of Muslims voted for Trump with many citing Biden's support for Israel. Their votes were enough to help Trump carry that state. Well, we all know how that turned out for them.

A group that demands anti-semitism and doesn't respect the right of others to worship as they see fit just might be a group you don't want to cater to. I'd say that now that they've seen the consequences of their hatred that they'll go back to voting for Dems, but that hasn't been the case with other Trump supporters, so who knows? Maybe the Religion of Peace should form their own party in order to have a party that conforms to their ideals.
You cite that a minority of Muslims in Michigan voted for Trump. Nearly two-thirds of Christians voted for Trump. Can we extrapolate your bullshit to Christian voters?

We know thebeave has a tendency to fact check or take the high road only when it is convenient.

The problem with BabylonBee is they suck at political comedy. Trying to target someone's alleged SJW'ing provides an opening for satire, but usually that requires a bit of finesse to get it across in an intelligent and humorous manner. They lack that skill.

Ooo

Yeah I'm expecting a response like "you're derailing the thread!" even though it's quite a glaring example of logical inconsistency. 🤔

The piece is pretty bad for a brainstorm first draft. The key to making it work would have been to quote her directly... a lot... in order to promote a potential compartmentalization of her social statements and her personal life. But that would have taken too long. Could blame AI, but it reads too poorly to be generated by a computer.

What is interesting is I hadn't heard of her before a couple weeks before the primary, let alone know the race of her husband (or apparently ex-husband, didn't know that either). I also just learned that her water broke a number of hours after she had come home from work.

Actually a nice article, kind of gives one a little deeper understanding of Hong et al, instead of the OMG socialist stuff.

Dan Sullivan and Mary Pelota are going head to head for the Senate race in Alaska and the rat phucking is reaching some seriously incredible (and hopefully not 'this is going to become the norm') heights.
article said:
Richard Grayson lives in Arizona and has been a fringe candidate in a number of federal elections. That includes in New York, where records show he’s established campaign committees named “The Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party Supports NY-21 Write-In Candidate Richard Grayson,” and “Write In Richard Grayson New York’s Cutest Communist.”

This year, Grayson is on the ballot in Alaska’s U.S. Senate race, where two heavyweights, Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan and Democrat Mary Peltola, are running in a contest that could help decide control of the chamber.

And now, two weeks before the primary election determines which four candidates advance to the general, Grayson, who’s running under the Green Party label, is getting an unexpected boost: A new super PAC has spent more than $100,000 on his behalf.

Fair Deal Alaska registered with federal campaign finance regulators a few days ago and lists as an address a suite in a Wasilla office building that offers “virtual office and mail services.”
But don't worry, the unethical nonsense is coming from the left (presumably) as well with Dan Sullivan's candidacy. No... not that Dan Sullivan, i.e. the current US Senator representing Alaska.
article said:
It was three days before the filing deadline when Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan learned of an eleventh-hour Republican challenger in his high-stakes reelection race.

The challenger’s name: Dan J. Sullivan.

Sen. Sullivan says it’s not a joke.

The two-term Republican incumbent, and the GOP’s Senate campaign arm, are raising major alarms about his same-name rival, warning that it could cost them a seat by confusing the electorate and give a leg-up to his well-funded Democratic challenger, former Rep. Mary Peltola.

In an interview with CNN, the senator accused Democratic leaders of planting Dan J. Sullivan in the race with the precise hope of undercutting his campaign – an allegation top Democrats in Washington and Anchorage firmly deny.

So Muslims didn't tip the state in favor of Trump? Also, please reread what I wrote. I specifically said that 33% of Muslims voted for Trump, which is clearly not a majority.

And quit attempting to move the goalposts to Christians. That's not what's at issue. Much like Trump, the issues with evangelicals/fundies is well established and can be discussed openly. Meanwhile, critical and honest discussion of Islam's horrors tends to be immediately hand waved away and swept off the table by the left. The problems they've created in Europe are also hand waved away and any discussion is derided as "Islamophobia."

These are the hard discussions the left refuses to have; and this isn't the only one.

Religiophiles seem to make trouble wherever they are. Regardless of what club they belong to, regardless of what book they think god wrote, regardless of what they think it means - it’s trouble. It has always been trouble and will alway be trouble. The only thing I can imagine being more trouble would be outlawing religions.

Yes it is, they voted for Trump. You state that a minority of Muslims turned the election to Trump's favor. When the reality is that Christians voted 2 of 3 for Trump. So Christians were the engine behind Trump's victory. You are complaining about a minority of a minority that voted for the wrong guy for the wrong reason while apparently not giving too much concern about the majority of the majority voting for the wrong guy for apparently an okay reason. ???

It is Islamophobia. Immigration and the religion of immigrants has long been an issue with nationalists. Again, you folk are acting like "No... really, this is for real this time. All those other times in history were racism, but today... this isn't racism."
These are the hard discussions the left refuses to have; and this isn't the only one.
I disagree with Muslims who'd vote for Trump or a third party solely because of Gaza. But at least Gaza exists and things aren't going well in Gaza. These people, however, were microtargeted with ads to get them to not vote for Biden. And it worked. Their influence on the election in the US as a whole impacted just one state, which Trump didn't need to win to hold onto the Electoral College victory.

There is a difference in ignoring a crisis and calling a molehill a molehill.

And a lot of the crap we are dealing with today, stems back to people who couldn't vote for Gore and went with Nader in Florida (also, not Muslims). We have enough religious zealots in this country with actual hands on the reins of power that we need to be concerned with.

Seen elsewhere...

On 30 October 2025, Donald Trump posted this:

Get rid of the Filibuster, and get rid of it, NOW!

A few days later, he wrote:

Terminate the filibuster, not just for the shutdown, but for everything else.

In June 2026, Trump wrote:

Anybody who doesn’t want to Terminate the Filibuster is a FOOL, a very stupid one, at that!

On 13 August 2026, Trump attacked Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed for wanting to terminate the filibuster:

...the Communist Dumocrat Senate Candidate from Michigan, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, is touting, as perhaps his single most important point, the Termination of the Filibuster. I watched yesterday, and he's gone Termination CRAZY. If he succeeds, the Dumocrats will gain 4 Senators, 8 Congressmen, many Electoral and Popular Votes, a stacked Supreme Court with 23 Justices, and I will be, sadly, despite the great job we are doing, the last Republican President!

This gets weird and not for the reason you might think... and no, that isn't click bait.

One of the surveys released by the group, Median Strategies, claimed that Francesca Hong was leading the Wisconsin Democratic primary for governor by more than 20 percentage points. (She went on to lose by less than one percentage point.) Another, shared by Mayor Karen Bass on X in a since-deleted post, showed Ms. Bass leading Nithya Raman by nearly 12 percentage points in the Los Angeles mayoral runoff.

On Monday, Median Strategies withdrew those results, saying they “should not be treated as genuine polling data.”

In a statement posted to the organization’s website, Median Strategies said the fabricated results were intended to examine “how purported polling information could enter and spread through the political information ecosystem without independent verification.”
Okay, that part isn't the WTF part (it should be, but it isn't), this is...
article said:
In Wisconsin, the Median Strategies results were largely in line with the other public polls, all of which greatly underestimated Ms. Hong’s opponent, David Crowley, igniting a wave of criticism of the value of primary polling.
Wait, what?!

Wisconsin Primary polling

The first thing that came to mind was 'when did this polling come out' and 'did it impact other polling' creating a feedback loop. Was Barnes in the lead and then this group came out in May and put out a 20 point poll lead and then other pollsters started tweaking their models. But that isn't what happened. Looking at the polling, this "fake poll" not only came out late, it was in kind with the other polling results. Three polling outfits since July 20 had Hong up by 18 points or more.

So:
  • How can Median Strategies be doing a social experiment in bleating out polling numbers that are in kind with real polling?
    • The quick answer is, you can't. It is impossible to note the impact of a fake poll that matches existing polls.
  • If that was what their purpose was, why haven't they written on their findings?
    • We did a social experiment... but we aren't going to give you the results
    • *closes doors*
  • When everyone was wrong, as can happen because primary polling is highly influenced on turnout of bases, why would this group come out and say this?
    • Everyone underestimated moderate voter turnout.
  • Did anyone know they existed until they said they were fake?
    • Did they even have any influence at all?
This smells like a Veritass operation.
