Dutch man, 69, who 'identifies as 20 years younger' launches legal battle to change age

Isn't getting laid the impetus behind most social movements? And the reason we bother to shower and have jobs?

Sure I suppose it is at the level of ending legal segregation.

Ending legal discrimination based on race.

Getting this guy laid.

Both equally important historical events.

Well, they feed off of each other. I'm pretty sure that it was MLK who was talking about how the main impetus of the Civil Rights movement was so that black men could date white chicks without getting lynched.

Sure.

On one side, no black man getting lynched.

On the other, this guy getting laid although nobody is stopping him.

Equally important.

Well, the problem was that black men were getting lynched. That's actually a problem because black men are people.

Careful Tom Sawyer, you could get caught in an infinite Unterloop.

King On Intermarriage "In a truly integrated society, interracial marriage should be legal. This is not a true problem, since individuals marry, not races. School integration has not led to an increase in such marriages. The basic aim of the Negro is not to become the white man's brother-in-law, but his brother."

Do you somehow think I don't see it as a problem?

What I don't see as a problem is some guy wanting the government to lie so he has a better chance of getting laid.

What I don't see as a problem is some guy wanting the government to lie so he has a better chance of getting laid.

But if he'd been successful, it wouldn't have been a lie. It would have just been a different version of the truth.

A person is born on a definitive day.

There are no other days they were born on.

To say they were born on a different day is just a lie.

A person is not born with a gender identity.

So nobody should think a witness to a birth knows the gender identity of the person born.

But they can easily know what day it is.

Even if the government says otherwise?

Do you think you can dictate to others in that way?

The government has no power to change the day you were born on.

They have the power to recognize the gender you identify as.

Can they recognize the day you identify as being born on? Or are you too dictatorial to allow that?

The gov't can recognize the date which one identifies as being born on. That does not change one's actual age.

I have no problem if some country wishes to have "age certificates" which denote the date on which identifies being born on. I doubt any country would substitute that for a birth certificate, but I could see it supplementing a birth certificate.

Outside of making some people feel better about themselves, I don't see that such a practice is of much use unless that became one's legal age. And I cannot see any country permitting people to declare their legal age in my lifetime.

I used to think the government wouldn't recognize transgender during my lifetime. You can never tell what progress might be made.

I’m still waiting for the government to recognize my self-identification as God King of Humanity. They’re being very backwards and intransigent in their refusal to kneel before me.

Sure.

Right after giving the date of birth it can give the date he wishes he was born on.

Date he wishes he was born on can become a movement.

Ah. So is this a good policy for anyone who wishes a difference between what happened at the moment of birth and later identifications?

No.

The date of birth is something known.

The gender identification is not known at birth.

It is like putting adult height on the birth certificate.

Meaningless.
