No second special counsel

Sessions declined to name a second special counsel to investigate the republican-led claims that FISA-based warrants against Carter Paige were politically motivated.

To justify such an appointment, the Attorney General would need to conclude that 'the public interest would be served by removing a large degree of responsibility for the matter from the Department of Justice.

Look for numerous meltdowns in the right-wing press and on Trump's twitter feed in the next few hours.
