They really didn't, so I wouldn't say anything about them. I certainly wouldn't put them in the same class as our resident Holocaust denier.

This is how America is great.
We have an illegal immigrant brought by his parents. He committed a crime which is using a fake official ID.
He was deported. Even so he returned back to the US but not as a child brought by his parents but as an adult. He did it even knowing that he committed a felony, not sure what level of it, but enough to cause his deportation.
Facing charges of deportation again, he applied for mercy due to his sick son.
After a review of his case, he is candidate of deportation anyway.
A church take care of this man to avoid his deportation and the government let the Church to do it.
I see everything has been taken properly, each party has made their job.
When a born American commits a crime and will be sent to jail, even if his son suffers of leukemia, this born American citizen will go to jail anyway.
Why then, giving preferences to a person who is an illegal immigrant?
The Church having this illegal immigrant protected is doing the right thing, the Church is showing what religion is about, but the government is not based on religion but in secular laws. In this case, if the judge shows mercy for this illegal immigrant, this judge must show the same mercy for all criminals with sick children, sick wives, sick dogs, and more... at the end, justice will be victim of mockeries.
If you from your heart want to help this illegal immigrant and his sick son, that will be a great act of mercy and solidarity, however, many tax payers won't want government funds destined for Americans to be used for illegal immigrants. Then, the government is right when applies the current laws and enforce them, the government must use the funds for Americans first.
And about that phrase "undocumented immigrant", such use of it is misleading, because illegal immigrants do have documents: Fake IDs and stolen social security numbers.

Where does it say that this desperado outlaw used a fake ID? Secondly, why do you assume that government funds will be used for the family. Actually, if you guys evict this dangerous holligan, the family probably will be on government assistance. Glad that your party is so pro-family!!
Don't you think that the child won't receive government assistance as well? The boy is a US citizen.

Interesting. Above you described the undocumented dad as an Illegal who forged ID (with no proof). Then you assume that his son will be on government assistance at some point with no evidence. Would you agree that you have a little bias? To answer your question, statistics tell us that the children of immigrants are the most successful groups of tax payers in the nation.
Certainly if the jack booted ICE agents evict the boy's father - his odds of being on government assistance will be higher. Kids need their parents. Modern conservatives have forgotten this.... Sad
What if the father was an American citizen, robbed a liquor store, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison? Would you protest his prison sentence because of his son?

Of course not. Being undocumented isn't nearly the same as robbing a store. Robbing a store is a felony and punishable by many years in jail. Most undocumented people from Mexico simply overstayed their VISA. That is a civil penalty - not a crime. When people cross the Mexican-American border without permission they are committing a misdemeanor. Most misdemeanor's result in tiny jail time - sometimes none at all. Examples of misdemeanor's include petty theft, public intoxitation, simple assault, disorderly conduct, prostitution, trespassing, and etc. So to answer your question, I would be very upset if an American were separated from his 5-year old with cancer because he trespassed on his neighbor's land. I would think that most "pro-family" people would be upset about it also.

Hmmmmm. Interesting. I'm wondering if your pro-family values are clouding your reading comprehension? Again, I'll repeat: that most Mexican undocumented workers overstayed their visa which is a civil crime. People do not serve time in jail for civil violations. Secondly, people that cross the border commit misdemeanors, and most misdemeanors do not result in jail time. Please feel free to link this post if you have additional misunderstandings!
I’m all for them staying together with their family. They can go to Mexico with the daddy.
I’m all for making it a felony with a minimum sentence of 20 years hard labor.

It is clear that you are using children to create a scenario of "compassion", while illegal immigrants bring children exactly for the same purpose.
Your attitude is similar to an individual who in purpose jumps in front of a passing by car to get injured and later ask for assistance using "compassion for the poor guy".

The issue is that the grey market of legality for people in the country illegally (or however you define it) is a FEATURE not a bug.
You must be challenged. I would never go into another country illegally. Why don’t you look up Mexican law pertaining to illegals?
