I am in the middle of a severe cold and cannot take mist regular cough medicines due to interactions with other drugs I'm taking. I was finally able to procure some Bucklet's, the legenday Canadian cough medicine.

Their slogan is: It tastes terrible. And it works.

I can confirm it tastes terrible. It also does seem to be helping my cough.

Anyone else have experience with Buckley's?

The only ‘Buckley’s I know is when mum would give us two choices, Buckley’s or none, which generally meant no!

My sample is Buckley's DM with 12.5 mg dextromethorphanHBr per 5 ml. I guess it's suspended in regular Buckley's, it tastes foul, but there is no description of the fluid medium. Sounds contradictory in that Buckley's works to encourage coughing and DMHBr is an antitussive, but it works just fine, as the adverts claim.

It's what my mother used to call, "Kill or cure". But if we were really sick, she had a source for some codeine cough syrup. It didn't really cure anything, but it shut us up for hours at a time, because we were in the healing arms of Morpheus.

Buckley's was for when we weren't really sick enough not to go to school, and that was the alternative. Generally, we'd go.

I find a shot or two of common Souza Silver Tequila taken neat and with no salt/lime BS works wonders with clogged sinuses. Goes great with Buckley's, especially the DM kind.
