A silencer does not silence. It muffles the sound of the powder burn a little but does nothing about the supersonic bang of the round, the major noise of the gun shot.We know that's the NRA's bullshit claim.
The fact remains that a silencer in this situation would have allowed this murderer to kill a lot more people before police located him.
The police most likely located him by which windows were busted out.
Aha, that makes sense too.A silencer does not silence. It muffles the sound of the powder burn a little but does nothing about the supersonic bang of the round, the major noise of the gun shot.

Actually, what I heard is that the smoke alarm went off in his room from all the gunfire, and identified the room on their safety/secuirty monitors.
I'm going to guess he was not making a lot of money, had poured his money into guns (despite what the brother said he had a pile of them) and had nothing for retirement.
The brother says he was worth millions.
He also checked in to this hotel on Thursday - that wasn't cheap
The brother says he was worth millions.
He apparently lived in a luxury retirement community, which supports the idea that he had money.
He also checked in to this hotel on Thursday - that wasn't cheap
And my experiences have strengthened my view on the second amendment.

The M16 is a military (not civilian) rifle. All M16s already have a full automatic capability. It is just a matter of moving the selector switch between safe, semi, and full auto. positionsThat's not an answer.
Back in the day when I was in the Marine Corps I knew exactly how to convert a semi-automatic M16 to full automatic.

The civilian version, the AR15, does not have a full automatic capability. The selector switch only has safe and semi options.
The nature of a sickness of mind that turns an apparently average person into a killer should be examined and addressed. Someone who is determined to kill can find the means to kill, so the question of why this sort of manic violence is happening, and apparently happening at an ever increasing rate in recent times.

I believe it might well have something to do with guns, like the way your rate of gun-murders is thirty times ours and your civilians have shot more of one another than have died in any of your wars. Surely it can't be their general availability!
Semi-automatic pump action shotguns are awesome! And my experiences have strengthened my view on the second amendment.
While I was in college, I had to work my way through with a full time job to pay for school and living expenses. This meant that I had to live in a "bad area" of town so I could afford the rent. Twice the sound of my pump action shotgun chambering a round made home invaders decide to run rather than continue into my apartment. One had already busted through the door and the other had already opened a window and had a leg inside. Fortunately, only the distinctive sound of the pump action shotgun was needed and I didn't have to actually fire. When the police showed up, he told me I should have shot because they would likely only break into someone else's home. However, I don't want to actually shoot anyone unless that is the only way to stop them.
I'm going with brain tumor.Since it's a 64 year old, retired white male, whose motivations are unknown...
anyone want to speculate as to why he did it?
Voices. Drugs. Anger at increasing socioeconomic inequality. Anger at increasing socioeconomic equality.
