Profanity should be expected of those who do not accept the arbitrary and unfounded distinction between the profane and the divine.
Ignorance should be expected of those who refuse to listen to good sense on flimsy pretexts.
Research into the use of "bad" language suggests that it is more frequently used by the intelligent and knowledgeable; Probably because they have to tolerate so many ignorant fuckwits.
It is neither indicative of lack of control, nor of lack of education. But it is rather a neat excuse to control the ignorant masses; What Terry Pratchett called 'the whips of the mind'. You are enslaved by the ideas that have been hammered into you from early childhood, and not only are you unable to escape, you are complicit in your own imprisonment. I feel very sorry for you.
“. . .He that is (skip)
Your favourite book of tall tails does not impress me any more than my choice of shocking vocabulary impresses you.
You are a backbiter !
Def: "This is a rendering of the Greek term ka·ta·la·li·aʹ. The related verb ka·ta·la·leʹo literally means “speak against,” doing so without justification and usually in a malicious or hostile manner. (1Pe 2:12; 3:16) This an expression associated with wrongful judging or condemning, thus conveying the sense of unjustifiably censuring." (Insight vol.-1 p. 241)
OK, if you say so. Labeling someone is, after all, a very good way of avoiding having to address what they are saying.
You should uplift you mind
Why? I am very happy with my mind where it is. It needs no further uplifting; And if it did, vacuous platitudes wouldn't be fit for the job.
by trying to deal with these:
What other book can cause an honest human to see himself as he really is - weaknesses, faults, strengths, hypocrisies, deviousness - warts and all? What other book can give an entire world of humanity a genuine hope for the future? What other book, if followed, can rid the world of war, violence, strife, contentiousness, hatred, envy, greed and deceit?
Pretty much anything by Terry Pratchett, for starters. He is really good at highlighting the flaws and weaknesses of humanity, in an upbeat and humorous way that leaves one with a feeling that there is hope for us to improve. I can recommend
Small Gods as an excellent entry point into his most famous collection of novels; Or if that's too highbrow for you, the
Bromiliad trilogy is superb - start with
Truckers.
If you think these statements are wrong, then show us why.
Oh, a rhetorical question, was it?
See above for a few suggestions for other books that (unlike your Bible) achieve the claimed result.
You should definitely read
Small Gods.
Feeling sorry for me is an act of judgment coming from a person with lofty eyes.
Yup. I am not one for false humility; It is very, very clear that you are not only less well educated than I, but that you are proud of it, and cling to your ignorance with a stubbornness that totally justifies my looking down on you.
Don't feel sorry for people whose circumstances you are ignorant of. They may be far happier that you can ever hope to be.
Maybe. Some guy lying in a shop doorway, off his head on hard drugs, is probably far happier in that instant, than I have ever been - there's a reason why people take (and get addicted to) drugs, after all.
That doesn't stop me from feeling sorry for him.
That you are so happy with your incredibly limited world-view is another reason for my pity; It's like talking to a man who has been in jail his whole life, who is ever-so pleased that he doesn't have to work for a living, and who reacts with pure fear to the idea of being released.
