If that is a typical example of Milo's appearances, he ought to be welcomed to speak anywhere. He makes Trump seem well-informed. Seriously, if he did not have a British accent, no one would pay attention to him for more than 2 seconds.

If he did not attract left-wing violent protesters when he speaks, no one would be paying attention to him.

You only call them "left wing" because that is the only way you can pretend the left wing cares about this.

They are extremely rare and very few and radicals, an extreme fringe, not part of the left wing. Separated from it entirely.

The difference between the left and the right in the US is that the right wing is dominated by radicals, dominated by religious fundamentalists, dominated by science deniers.

These people are an extreme fringe that have their own agenda but it is not some general agenda of the left wing, which has nothing to do with college lectures and everything to do with improving the lives of working people trapped in a capitalist rat race.

I listened to this Milo guy on the Maher show. He really has no ideas.

But what he does is stuff like this. Take fringe issues involving extremely few people and label them as "left-wing" problems. Make absurd sweeping generalizations that have no basis in fact.

And of course salivating dogs on the right eat this shit up. It is all he offers and it is mindless.

Let the fool speak. He has no ideas. A few bad insults and a lot of ignorance about what the left is.

Regarding Milo, he can make moderately cogent points, but often it is fairly quaint and banal what he says if you subtract shock value. Shock speaker Coulter is more insightful or at least can structure an argument more clearly.

For my take, I would say that Peter Hitchens makes much better points, but I don't agree that much with him. Also, he is not playing for shock like Milo. The debates between the Hitchens brothers were pretty epic.

Regarding the cancellation of the band Marduk, you can say that Milo is indirectly responsible because he amped up the Antifa folks to an irrational fever pitch. However, it is ultimately Antifa's responsibility.

I would imagine that Marduk is NOT happy at being cancelled or tarred as Nazis like Milo playfully enjoys.
 
Milo is the gay, male version of Coulter. I find them very similar in many ways. They both seem to really enjoy their own shock value and the resulting chaos around them. Neither have anything novel or very interesting to say. There's a tinge of self loathing in both of them, and a faux arrogance. Both say shocking things, and then try to back that up with blatantly "alternative" facts. Once they're called out on it, the retreat back into bad comedy.
 
i found the fake tweets that Milo acted as if they were real, but honestly it is so crazy that it should be obvious they are fake. Still a wrong action.

I just want to point out that you are intolerant and you represent just this new breed of dangerous left. That may be why you are blind to it? You seem to be fine with shutting down speakers who have opinions you aren't comfortable with.

So, regarding Milo I would say that the most sensible reason to prevent him from speaking is not that he says offensive things, but because he doesn't fully believe what he says - it is totally obvious from the shit eating grin (pun unintended) he has much of the time

The point of discussion should be ideas that people truly have, not riling people up for the lulz.

It would be better to have a full on Nazi on Bill Maher rather than Milo in some ways. Milo is a slippery fucker, not a strong core to what he thinks.

Bill should have Ramzpaul on instead. That guy is pretty cool.

I actually gave you an example of a thinker on the left: Noam Chomsky. Calling that a "No True Scotsman" fallacy is severe ignorance.

Again, thinkers like Chomsky, and Howard Zinn, and Gore Vidal are the left, not a few kids on some campus.

And I can't shut down anything. That is desperate insanity.
