donald trump is idiot but he wasn't saying positive about nazi germany
Speaking of idiots...
No one's saying he was being positive about Nazi Germany.
However, comparing a slightly inconvenient news leak to the horrors perpetrated by the Nazis is rather self-centered and trivializing the Holocaust.

NOW to you understand the Jewish upset?

Was there the same outrage when people were comparing Trump to Hitler during the election? Did that trivialize the Holocaust too?

Yes. Pretty much without exception, when one compares something to Nazi Germany, it involves trivializing the Holocaust. While there may be some valid comparisons, especially as concerns a government leader talking about policies which would have a fascist implementation, if someone compares something to Hitler, 99 times out of 100, the comparison is invalid and the actions of Nazi Germany are being trivialized through the comparison.

As a side note, you know who else compared a lot of things to Nazi Germany? Hitler, that's who.

The Nazis did many bad things, not just the Holocaust. Somebody can make a comparison to the Nazis without intending to say anything about the Holocaust one way or another. However, I don't see any specific comparison Trump was making, thus I don't see a legitimate reason for the comparison.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Intelligence agencies should never have allowed this fake news to "leak" into the public. One last shot at me.Are we living in Nazi Germany?

donald trump is idiot but he wasn't saying positive about nazi germany

True, he wasn't and his analogy was understandable.

Well, to be honest I thought comparing stuff to Nazi germany to be unfair, and invoking Godwins law usually would shine a bad light on you, but when most other comparisons doesn't really fit, and Nazi germany is all you have left then

IMHO, even acknowledging the existence of Don the Con's idiotic tweets is "over-reacting".
If those "nazi" Noozers were to completely ignore that moron's blatherings we'd all be better off. Instead they amplify the idiocy and help perpetuate the coming Tyranny by Twitter.
Does anyone really believe anything Trump tweets? I mean, seriously folks - now he is saying he has a plan for "health insurance for all" - exactly what repuglicans were calling socialism and even communism, when Bernie was saying it.

He's like a severed head from a Medusa, striking and biting indiscriminately, and there's nothing the rest of the Medusa can do about it.

Which is why I insisted on comparing him and his minion followers to Mussolini. The parallels were less soaked in hyperbole.

Trump may very well be the death of our Democracy. He has already harmed us so badly that the Republicans look like a political party.

I think the KKK standing behind Trump trivializes Racism

Trump's comments were in this instance directly related to Nazi type propaganda being disseminated by the CIA. That is spreading generalised comments without giving actual proof. Such methods were the stock in trade for Goebbles et al

This is old news but the NY Times did a write up just a few years ago but I would like to see if there is solid evidence outside the media reports for the following in order to form any conclusion.

It would be interesting to see the actual documents per the reports in the NEW YORK TIMES and other media

https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/27/us/in-cold-war-us-spy-agencies-used-1000-nazis.html?_r=0

In Cold War, U.S. Spy Agencies Used 1,000 Nazis

DOCUMENTS REVEAL FBI AND CIA HIRED OVER 1,000 NAZI WAR CRIMINALS TO WORK AS SPIES

He'll just make the drug companies pay for "health insurance for all" later...you'll see!!!!!!!!!

He's like a severed head from a Medusa, striking and biting indiscriminately, and there's nothing the rest of the Medusa can do about it.
Yep...it will be interesting to see things as this flushes out, as the 'all bark' is never backed up by a bite....he'll be all washed up.

Invoking Nazis in conversation is typically something that happens at web boards. It isn't an off the cuff remark made by the POTUS.
Trump's comments were...
Hyperbole.

.. and a bit ironic, in context... he was complaining that the US government did not censor the news report.. and this failure to censor is like living in Nazi Germany... So he is apparently saying that freedom of the press is Nazism.

He was comparing the CIA disinformation to that of the NAZI era; unsupported alarmist accusations. This was also used against Clinton.

Under Goebbles Das Reich had press freedom :)
