Emails in Clinton probe dealt with planned drone strikes: WSJ

Emails between U.S. diplomats in Islamabad and State Department officials in Washington about whether to challenge specific U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan are at the center of a criminal probe involving Hillary Clinton's handling of classified information, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

The 2011 and 2012 emails were sent via the "low side" -government slang for a computer system for unclassified matters - as part of a secret arrangement that gave the State Department more of a voice in whether a CIA drone strike went ahead, according to congressional and law enforcement officials briefed on the FBI probe, the Journal said.

Some of the emails were then forwarded by Clinton's aides to her personal email account, which routed them to a server she kept at her home in suburban New York when she was secretary of state, the officials said, according to the newspaper.

Investigators have raised concerns that Clinton's personal server was less secure than State Department systems, and a recent report by the State Department inspector general found that Clinton had broken government rules by using a private email server without approval, undermining Clinton's earlier defenses of her emails.

Better get used to it buddy. E-mailgate won't cease until the day after the election.

It won't stop then either unless Democrats vote down ticket and kick the fucking tea-partiers and obstructionists out of congress.

I think that Tea Partiers are part of it, but not the only part. There's the opportunity that Clinton gave them through her poor judgment, then there's the conservative media outlets, and republican activists groups. Even if congress ignores it for now, the freedom of information requests by groups like judicial watch and the magnifications in wall street journal, fox news, etc will continue. America is broken, especially the news media. it's really only getting money out of the system that will start fixing the problems. While we don't want state news, something seriously has to change about the two-party system news. I don't think Hillary will solve it and I am not sure any particular person (such as Bernie) can either.

Seems like what we need is an investigation on how the tea partiers took over the FBI and the inspector's general of State and Intelligence who all supposedly report to Obama.

I guess I could get used to that smart ass look in the next 4 years so long as it's directed at the right people and for the right reasons.

The problem with the 25 year and counting, ceaseless molehill to mountain project that Republicans have been working on with the Clintons is that well, after 25 years when nothing of any significance has been produced, it's easy to ignore.

When every mistake, real or not, is blown into Watergate-esque proportions, they all just blend into the background after a few weeks. And after the Bush/Cheney years, the outrage threshold has become so elevated that even if Hillary did do something illegal here, I don't give a shit. Short of Hillary starting a fake war, torturing prisoners in Cuba and Abu Grhaib, losing $12 billion dollars in cash sent to the ME, outing a CIA field operative, destroying a budget surplus, and presiding over a near Great Depression II, and having to bail out the banks, and on and fucking on, and through feckless foreign policy, giving rise to a new terrorist organization, I simply cannot force myself to give 1/10th of a single flying fuck about whether or not she screwed up email protocols.

Ain't that the truth.

^^^^^ That!

Colonel Sanders would not be giving a pass to Trump.
and yet you do, while harping on endlessly at hilary to people who don't give a shit about you or the idiocy you continually spew, and yet here you are once again spewing it... so clearing the bug up your ass is so big it's past your capacity for rational thought or social cues, so you might want to check yourself for the shroud of hypocrisy floating behind you.

This meme actually sums up the real problem.

What the right wing has done since 1992 is build a case against Hillary Clinton. Not a criminal case, mind you, but a public perception campaign to brand Hillary as a "corrupt lying criminal." It has taken hold so firmly among low-information voters (and sexists) that it is taken as god's honest truth and spread around by people who have so little intellectual capacity that they can only communicate in pictures with big words attached.

If Hillary really were a criminal, then the two plus decades of investigations into her behavior would have led to an arrest, or indictment, or charges, or jail time, yet to date they haven't even been able to pin so much as a parking ticket or library late fee on the former First Lady. Legally, she's clean as a whistle.

But that doesn't matter to the authors of cheap shot memes with unflattering photos. She's a criminal because all the propaganda from the right over the last 20 some years says so. It has gotten so bad that some Democrats have actually bought into the lie. The real problem is that people are still falling for this bullshit.

idiocy you continually spew, and yet here you are once again spewing it..
You are summing up yourself here. You have no rational arguments and so you resort to cheap insults.

The fact is that Trump gets hammered enough on this boards and elsewhere whereas Hillary gets far less scrutiny on here. And besides, this is a Hillary thread, so why should we derail it with Trump?

Get ready for an independent counsel.
Would be a good idea. Loretta Lynch is a political appointee and somebody not in her chain of command would be a good idea. Especially since she seems buddy-buddy with Bill.
