What's really amusing to me, though, is how much stuff there is that these people probably wouldn't recognize as porn. Just about every scene in Willy Wonka where a kid's removed from the tour is someone's fetish... Flying, ballooning, shrinking, gluttony... But are they cracking down on WW&CF?
Meaning that the more perverted one is, the safer one's access to porn.

I just have to come up with a decent explanation for why I keep my copy of Star Trek II wrapped in brown paper at the bottom of my closet.

I truly discovered this watching youtube. I was looking at a scene from a movie and the lady in it was wearing ear muffs. In the suggested videos there were other scenes of women wearing ear muffs in clips completely unrelated to to the show I was watching. Basically any action or situation you can imagine probably is a fetish to someone. You can find these rabbit holes of related videos on youtube sometimes.

And yet, I fail in my search for anyone who's gone from a donut fixation or a women-in-jogging-clothes fetish or a movie-actress-smoking obsession to promoting child pornography.

Sure, one of these clips will show a child on screen for about .034 seconds and someone will scream that that makes it child porn, but only if you ignore the other 20 childless clips in the collection, and further ignore that no one in the comments asks 'got any more with a kid in there?'

The sponsors of this legislation just want to dump everything icky into one big grab-bag of sleaze and call it good...

The rationale is also to prevent harm to others. They consider it results in an increase of a number of things (like "the demand for sex trafficking, prostitution, child sexual abuse images, and child pornography."), etc.

Isn't it exquisite when the conservative, sex-negative Right gets into bed with the regressive, sex-negative Left, and uses language like 'commodification'?

The bill by implication appears only to be talking about heterosexual porn. I assume that means Utah approves of homo porn. Or, at least, does not not approve of it.

I thought we were talking about voluntary acts among consenting adults here.
