I saw a post on facebook about this so I figured it was full of crap, being on Facebook and all.
People like this need to put themselves into a safe and dropped to the bottom of the ocean. The drug company had a 750% sale to production cost on it to begin with, and research hasn't exactly been needed for several decades for the drug 60+ year old drug. This is shit that idiot CEO's in television sitcoms on Television do, not real life.

One would think so. If there's some process available which has let them keep the patent rights for over 60 years, that's a process which needs to be gutted and rewritten.

Well, I am assuming that this Albanian piece of shit is not stupid and there is something to his plan. Maybe he plans to make enough money until generics kick in and then reduce prices back to normal, that would be consistent with M.O. of piece of shit like him from WallStreet.

Shkreli is also a good argument as to why we ought to go back to confiscatory income tax rates.
It does seem like the most reasonable conclusion. People need this drug in order to not die and it would take a few months for anyone else to ramp up production of a generic version, so he can rake in some mega-profits for a bit before dropping the price back down to competitive levels.
