June Lockhart was still alive. Who knew? Made it to 100.
I knew.

Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson. :beers: A good to mom to Will, Penny and Judy (although she seemed to have relegated her responsibilities to keeping Will out of danger to the Robot). And, I wish she would have been more of a disciplinarian regarding Dr. Smith. She always seemed to want to let him off easy, even after he put her family in harm's way in most every episide. She shoulda told Don to take him out behind the woodshed and let him have his way with him.

:tombstone:
I remember her as the “mom” of Lassie. Lassie was always saving her son Tim. Made me wonder sometimes.
How many times does your kid have to fall down the well before you take measures?

Timmy never fell down a well.

Timmy never fell down a well.
Right, that was Bruce Wayne. Timmy got trapped in the cave-in at the old mine.

You think she was trying to get rid of Timmy and the damn dog kept bringing him back? Interesting.
I don't remember Lassie much. That was my sister's thing.

Timmy never fell down a well.
Correct. Timmy was trapped in a nuclear missile silo, a telephone booth, trunk of a '74 Ferrari, and Bruno Hauphtman's basement, but never a well.

You remember the show differently than I do. Ferrari? Bruno H.?? My favorite episode was always 'Secret in the Dark Cassock' (CBS 3/20/1960) in which Timmy is kidnapped by a priest, and Lassie rescues him by biting off the priest's balls.

I was a huge Lost in Space fan when I was a kid. Lots of great memories. I liked the episodes when the Jupiter 2 was actually working best.

Years later I got the VHS tapes and saw how utterly stupid most of the episodes were. Except for the first several episodes, and a few scattered ones, most are just dumb!

But when I was 8 years old it was great!

I never really watched Lassie

I never really watched Lassie
Timmy falls in the well. Lassie goes and gets help by tugging on people’s sleeves.
Lather, rinse, repeat 100x.
Then introduce bad guys. Lassie spots them a mile away but nobody believes her, so she has to save everyone from the bad guy all by herself.
Lather, rinse, repeat another 100x.

I just saved you hundreds of hours. 🤗

What a great show Fawlty Towers was.

Only two seasons were made but every episode was a classic.

I loved that show. I went through a period when whenever anyone complained that something wasn't working, or some other problem, I'd immediately go into a Basil Fawlty routine and respond "Well it's not my fault!" Eventually I realized that a lot of people didn't get the reference and just thought I was an asshole, so I quit

lol, I understand. I use a few Basil quotes too.

A few more classic scenes

It cracks me up when Basil says "I only picked that one up to annoy you actually"

"can't we get you on Mastermind, Next contestant Sybil Fawlty, from Torquey, special subject the bleeding obvious"

I will have to rewatch this series.

Donna Jean Godchaux
She died on Sunday. She was the only female member of the Grateful Dead. With the band 1972-79. I know some Deadheads aren't Donna fans -- but I am. My favorite stretches of Dead history are the Pigpen years and the Keith/Donna years, Keith being Donna's husband and the band's keyboardist.
For a concert with generous helpings of Donna's vocals, try Live at the Cow Palace New Years Eve 1976.
She was most often a backing vocalist with the band, although she had a few solo numbers through the years. She did a lot of vocal duets with Bob Weir. On the Cow Palace set, when Garcia gets to the 'But I'll get back...' stretch of Wharf Rat, she does some outstanding harmony singing to his lead. Other numbers on which Donna was a decided plus: Franklin's Tower, Looks Like Rain, Sugar Magnolia, Scarlet Begonias, Deal. She seemed to have no star ego, which also goes for the other band members, and she became a true ensemble player,

It's incredible to me that there are so many Donna haters though 1973-1978 are perhaps their best years, especially 1977. Ya Donna got drunk and sang off-pitch sometimes but they all screwed up from time to time.

I have Cow Palace 12/31/76. Great show. Though I like May 1977 better. Have you heard Donna and Bobby on Looks Like Rain on 5-17-77? It's beautiful.

Crazy Fingers = crazyfingers

I had over 1000 hours of cassette tapes of the GD before converting to Dicks/Daves Picks, etc..

FYI :) I screen shotted these about a year and a half ago. Another 30+ have been added since then.

What's your collection?

My Dead collection is almost all the legit stuff that has come out since the mid-90s -- Dick's Picks, Road Trips, Dave's Picks, plus, I believe, 13 of the box sets. I don't collect or listen to the post-Godchaux career much at all. Brent has fans; I'm just not one of 'em. (I'm not tone-deaf -- I do know that So Many Roads is one hell of a song, and I try to listen to as many versions as I can.) I'm happy to let fellow Deadheads get enthused over their favorite years and concerts. Jerry celebrated all music and got into all the nooks and crannies. We can follow any number of styles and phases in the 30 years of the Dead.
My dream box would be a lovingly curated set of the best of 1970 -- whatever's releasable. I'd love to have the best-quality recording of 9/19/70 at Fillmore East. That's the gig where, in the middle of Lovelight, Pigpen gets so raunchy that Bobby interjects, "Pigpen, did you say 'Fuck'???" I've heard it on some website -- would love to hear it cleaned up (sonically, not censored) on disc.

I love 72, 73, 74, 75 ( the one main show) 76, 77, 85, 88, 89, 90. Ya almost all of those posted above are from Dicks/Daves/Road Trips, various boxes. But I just buy them all because I believe that I'll go back to a year and re-appreciate it. Spring of 1990 was amazing! And I'm just now rediscovering 72. I bought a bunch of 72 a few years ago even though I almost never listened to 72. Now I'm listing all the time.

Brent is really good. He's good especially because of how he energized Jerry and Bobby. I don't believe that Jerry and Bobby would be so good in 88, 89, 90 if not for Brent.
