Trump tells homeless to stop being homeless or go to jail. The solution to poverty is simple, just stop being poor. Certainly encampments are not pretty and we need to address homelessness. However, putting people in jail for not owning or renting a home seems kind of dumb.

"Homeless individuals will be given the option to leave their encampment, to be taken to a homeless shelter, to be offered addiction or mental-health services, and if they refuse, they will be susceptible to fines or to jail time," White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told reporters.

Leavitt said the administration was exploring strategies to relocate homeless individuals "far from the capital." She said U.S. Park Police have removed 70 homeless encampments from federal parks since March and are set to clear the remaining two encampments in the city later this week.

Displacing them "far from the capital"? I'm assuming not Florida or Texas.

And Trump's tariffs are now baking deeper into the economy.

The Producer Price Index (PPI) for July showed inflation for businesses rose 0.9% over the prior month in July, well ahead of the 0.2% increase that was forecast data from the BLS showed Thursday. On an annual basis, prices rose 3.3%, the most since February.

"Core" producer prices, which exclude food, energy, and trade services, rose 0.6% last month, the most since March 2022 and an uptick after prices were unchanged in June. On an annual basis, core producer prices rose 3.3%, which was also the most since February.

Inflation is coming again... and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Trump has been blaming Powell, yelling, screaming, demanding lower interest rates, and now we are seeing why they aren't being dropped. Trump is lowering employment and increasing inflation, all so that nations can lie to him about building production in the US.

To be honest, I was surprised that the announcement was that one sided. I was expecting Putin to concede to certain terms, but using requirements that Ukraine would never accept and then nothing happens, continuing the status quo in a week or two. Instead, we end up without even the status quo as Trump goes from Ceasefire to Peace Deal. I'm curious where in the heck Rubio is in all this. He getting paid too?
