George Zimmerman Arrested On Domestic Violence And Weapons Charge

It really is hard for me to believe this obviously troubled man with self-control issues can still have defenders.

Of course he still has defenders among the patriotic Real AmericansTM. He did kill an unarmed black teenager, after all. That kind of thing tends to score big points with patriotic Real AmericansTM because it plays into the narrative that white people are being "persecuted" by minorities.

Domestic violence normally takes away guns. His guns haven't been taken away--that says to me the allegations aren't standing up to scrutiny.

How do you know he didn't just go out and buy more? Or pick up something from the stash I am sure he keeps? Or get something *gasp* illegal. Or from any one of the numerous gun rights groups who see him as a hero?

He doesn't get busted for illegal possession of a firearm.

The guy is an idiot. It's just he's not guilty of all the misdeeds you think he is.

Did a search for Florida law, and it looks like the guns are only taken away on a felony conviction. So if one does plea dealing, has their father make clear things over, etc, they can avoid loosing their guns. Even if they are convicted, and their guns taken, Florida law apparently lets you buy new ones after three years.

Looks like Loren will have to come up with some new unsupported assertions to maintain his pro-Zimmerman narrative. Because we all know he's not going to change his stance no matter how much information is presented that contradicts his claims.

Be consistent Loren, I think you called Martin a burglar even though he was never charged with it. We'll see where this case goes with Zimmerman and what the punishment will be for the charges.

He sees the guy in the car watching him and he calls 911 and then they both describe what the other person is doing and the dispatcher says just keep walking and head home and an officer will meet you in a few minutes at your house to check him out. The police figure everything out.
Ah yes... the entire world is the victim's responsibility. Zimmerman called 911, was told to chill out, but he didn't.

...and what do we learn from this? Martin should have called 911 and listened to their advice.

I don't think your Zimmerman didn't listen to the dispatcher is as cut and dried as you make it.

I agree. When the Operator said "You don't need to do that." what they actually meant, "Honestly, we don't care one way or the other."

And if the operator says stop following, and Zimmerman stops his running and starts talking to the dispatcher about where to meet him it isn't following. The dispatcher didn't say go back to the car or draw a circle where you are standing and sit down.

Good point. And when the Operator didn't ask him whether he was armed with a gun, that meant the Operator didn't think it was relevant to the situation either.

Zimmerman should have identified Trayvon as black. Then the operator could have given the all-clear to Stand his Ground in hot pursuit with guns a blazing.

Yee Haw! [/Snark off]

I think he is a menace to society. Certainly much more than Martin ever was.
So you are saying you have incontrovertible evidence that clears Martin of the Lindbergh kidnapping?
Martin's mother was born in 1966, 34 years after the Lindberg kidnapping. Of course, maybe Martin's culture includes time travel, so I guess that doesn't really prove anything.

They are magical you know.

It's not the operators fault either. The fault lies in the escalation between the two of them when they met.
I agree fully, if by that you mean Zimmerman was insane to put himself into a situation where he felt he needed to be armed.

And punching someone in a concealed carry area and a a SYG state is a bad idea too.

Yes. Punching a man who is armed with a gun and has followed you through the neighborhood is a crazy idea. Martin should have known better that he was living in the Shoot First Ask Questions Later State.
