7 Habits of Highly Affected Racialists

If asking for precision and examples of your racial semi-theory yarns is your idea of "a silly semantic game", then "actually conversing" cannot be your goal. After all a demand that we "own up to who we really are" sounds about as "conversational" as a "confess your racist sins" tent evangelist.

You've gotten the examples. And, hilariously, called the sky green when reviewing them.

Reminder:

Athena DID NOT SAY "all whites" (dismal even admits this, eventually)
dismal pretends that she did
so that he can say "not all whites, (and Davka says so, too!)"
This is #6 under glass. Picture perfect. With a splash of "tu quoque" for bonus.

There is your example. Own it. It's hilariously perfect and unabashed.

You are attempting to argue that when I pointed out that Davka claimed he didn't count as white in the thread about whiteness I committed the "Not All Whites" argument?

Huh?

He's declaring it already proven, just as I predicted.

He knows he was wrong when he wrote that I regularly engage in bigotry on this board. He knows he can't substantiate it. So he declares it already well known.

Sorry Davka, it is far more honest to admit you were mistaken.

As the esteemed philosopher Rocky Balboa said, "After awhile, you get a reputation and that's it. You get no respect."

Are you claiming you don't have this reputation, or that you don't deserve this reputation?

I'm claiming I don't have that reputation, and the proof is Davka's inability to find a single example of me engaging in bigotry on this board and running away when asked to provide examples.

Huh?

Jesus H Tittie-Fucking Christ, no, derec.
No I am showing that unequivocally Davka never said he "didn't count as white" because no one ever said "all whites" Fuckin' A, man.
Athena said, "all poor republican voting whites" and Davka said, "yeah, they sure are fucked up."

Read, derec. Read.

The only one who ever said "she said, 'all whites'!" is you, derec. Thereby personifying the "and he pretends someone said all whites" example.

I'm going to give you a mulligan on that one.

Feel free to edit it to make some semblance of sense before I respond.

I went back and read that original post by Athena.

It is true that Athena didn't use the word "all", but Athena also didn't use the word "some".

If someone says "people in group X are like this", the basic rules of grammar say "the lack of a modifier to show only a subset indicates that the statement encompasses all of that group."

But even then, Athena didn't use the word "All" so therefore we can ditch the rules of grammar.

"tittie fucking" means to put your penis between her tits and rub one out. Does that help?

An interesting conclusion can perhaps be drawn between the characteristics of the group who instantly understood what she meant and replied things like, "yeah they sure are harming themselves," and the group who instantly shouted, "not all whites!!!!111!!"

Nobody used the exact phrase "not all whites" in a self-referential manner. If Athena is excused for not using the word "all", so is this alleged group that you are commenting on.

Derec is saying "not all whites" that is the basis of his entire argument. That he can rightly say it and that Davka is a hypocrite for saying it also.

Okay, this thread must be a joke right? Davka made up a list for entertainment and ass-exposing (supposedly). Numerous people had comments and questions about the list, including myself. I haven't seen any substantive responses from Davka about any of them. All I've seen are little insults and saying "Aha! That you would question me just proves I'm right," and accusations of racial bigotry. Worse are the non-responses like the one I got. I bothered to read from the OP through to the end of the thread, carefully considering what everyone has been saying. I composed a series of comments and questions, hoping to engage Davka and better understand their position but all I got was a few measly sentences that don't really explain or answer anything.

If the whole purpose of the OP was to post a silly list for entertainment please let me know so I don't waste my time bothering to respond again. If it's just a made up thing about a made up class of people that doesn't actually mean anything or correspond to anything in reality just let me know and I'll bow out. If, instead, you think this list can be attributed to a real group of people I would appreciate an actual response to my post. There are others in this thread who might also appreciate a substantive response from you instead of just patronizing them.

Is Derec accusing Davka of using that exact phrase, or something that means essentially that?

Davka did say that Athena's post didn't apply to Davka even though Davka is white. But he didn't use the exact phrase "not all whites". This would be a tough nut to crack, if we didn't have things like the rules of conventional usage of the English language.

Davka is not in the description of white people who are poor and vote against themselves, which is what Athena described.
Neither am I which is why I reacted, "yeah they are incomprehensible, aren't they?"

Your comments were pretty snarky, so they may not have evoked the weighty feeling of seriousness that you intended them to evoke.

Here are the relevant passages:

My kid and I were having one of those rambling conversations people have when there is nothing on TV and raindrops do a soft shoe down window panes. We were speaking of many things and within those many things, the subject of race came up, but not the 'negro problem" but that Pearl of Great Price known as whiteness.

You know, whiteness is a powerful thing. So powerful in fact that it has managed to make slaves out of white people so desperate to hold onto a myth a supremacy that they would rather share whiteness with the white man kicking them in the ass day in and day out, than share better wages, better working conditions, and better benefits with someone who looks like me. Poor and working class white folk all over this country defend austere economic policies and vote for representatives who actively seek to remove any and all worker and wage protections on the books, all for a promise that people of color will get no "special treatment," nothing they have not earned and earned hard. They will depend on a contribution jar left on a convenience store counter and the change strangers get from a ten to pay for the healthcare of their children, rather than demand a broader and more comprehensive universal healthcare at a more affordable price because such a plan might be considered "reparations". They will lose their homes to sub prime mortgage scams rather than demand regulations that could save the limited assets of their families and their generations to come.

Damn strong drug, this whiteness. Blinds you, binds you, then it never minds you.

Somehow whiteness has been infused with True ReligionTM to create this weird justification for calling charity "evil," even though the Bible calls it good. This seems to make it easier for poor whites to accept that their position in life is God's Will, blessed be His lily-white and kissable sphincter.

Fear of Hell + Fear of Melanin = Poor White Republicans.

Dude, I hate to be the one to tell you this but in all these threads about whiteness you count as one of the white people.

Or so I understand.

Dude, I hate to tell you this, but I know that. And yet I am completely unrepresented in the OP of this thread. How do you suppose that happened? :consternation1:

You think you're not represented. But you are one of the white people.

The "blinds you" thing at work, I guess.

Nope. The OP may refer to you, but it doesn't refer to me, other than perhaps obliquely. Reading for Comprehension is clearly not your strong suit. Try again.

So, to summarize:

1) Athena makes some broad and sweeping over-generalizations about white people and whiteness.
2) Davka acts like the things Athena is saying don't apply to him (i.e., they don't apply to All White People)
3) Dismal points out that Davka is a white person
4) Davka reiterates the broad and sweeping over-generalizations about white people don't apply to him

I see no assumption that I made at any time that Athena's comment was intended to apply to all white people. Indeed someone capable of cleverly reading between the lines might detect that my not particularly subtle and constant referring to it as a "broad and sweeping over-generalization" suggests I don't think it applies to all people.

The introduction of the other white man in the second clause shows the assumed division of the white people in the first clause, highlighted by my added words.

And yet your constant harping on it suggests that you think SHE DOES and that at the very least that you think it applies to Davka and he should know it.

Oh crap, it's another racialist focused on the Minutiae.

I'll bet if you really think about it you can come up with a plausible explanation of that exchange.

This isn't one.

All right. What was your reason for typing this?

What was it you thought Davka didn't know, but should? What thing was it you "hated to tell him"? It wasn't that in your mind Athena was including him?

Please do explain why you wrote that, what you were thinking and what needed to be learned?

Seriously? I didn't intend to invoke a "weighty feeling of seriousness", I just wanted some explanations. If being incredulous that any actual group of people was observed in the making of the list counts as "snarky" I'm not sure how to express that incredulity without being snarky. Anyway, since when is the tone of a question a legitimate reason to ignore it?

The nerve of some people, right?

It's not, I agree. It's just that the tone of your second post was so different from the tone of your first. I read your first post but did not respond as several of your questions were already under discussion, and I wasn't sure how serious you were. You second post conveys a more serious discussion intent, so I did reply to that one. Others may have felt the same (or not, one never knows). At this point, I'm off to work, so it'll have to wait a bit from me. :)
