Why Trump Will Win the GOP Nomination

American politics are funny! Wouldn't it be funny if Bernie Sanders won and America lurched even more to the left! I can just see the grin on Putin's face. It's from ear to ear.

The latest. Arthur Laffer has come on a right winger TV show to state that the GOP will sweep 47 out of 50 states in the general election. You betchum!

Recent polls suggest that Hillary has the black votes tied up solid, especially in the South. The GOP in the general election will be hurt here and Sanders is being hurt by this in his attempts to win the primaries. It remains to be seen if Sanders can make a dent in this area come election day.

That just sounds like bullshit. But a different type... because he actually said something right in that context.

Supply-side economist Arthur Laffer is predicting Republicans will win the White House in a landslide this year, regardless of the nominee.

“I would be surprised if the Republicans don’t take 45, 46, 47 states out of the 50,” Laffer told host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on New York’s AM-970 on Sunday.

“I mean, I think we’re going to landslide this election.”
45 states would mean winning New York, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, one other New England state (assuming California doesn't flop), Illinois. You have to be incredibly stupid to think anyone in this political climate could win 45 states.

A Republican winning the election at best would do a George W Bush performance in '04.

I remember back when conservative pundits were saying Romney would win Minnesota.

I thought to myself, yeah, right. Minnesota didn't go for Reagan, it won't go for Romney. Romney's no Reagan. If Minnesota goes for Romney, I'd eat my own snow shovel.

OK, the latest and greatest is now that the GOP establishment itself is basically embracing Trump. Cruz has made too many enemies in Washington. Given the choice, the establishment will support Trump.

I think this will really hurt Cruz in the long run. The establishment sees they have to choose between Trump and Cruz. At least they think they can work with a Trump president who is a "dealmaker". Cruz has just pissed off too many people to be viable. So much for the thesis that once others drop out of the race the rest of the party will coalesce around the not-Trump candidate. It is the not-Cruz candidate that will pick up the votes.

If Sanders beats Hillary, what will Trump do with a campaign based entirely on making it easier for Hillary to win the White House?

Ya, it really has been clever of him to undermine the GOP by campaigning on things that the GOP voters want their candidates to be campaigning on.

Hilary's machiavellian maneuvering in orchestrating his campaign is only topped by her use of her masterful espionage skills to cover up all her involvement in BENGHAZI!!!

Aww, how sweet. You're pretending to believe that Trump is for real.

Trump is irrelevant to your argument. It's the GOP voters who are real.

Yes. They are real. White, primarily southern, poor, or at least working class. They are the kind who are really threatened by demographic changes and the need for racial equality in the US. As well as of course immigrant labor taking their jobs or at least driving down their wages. The Democrats need to do a better job speaking to these people. They used to because there were strong unions, and also because the South was never going to support the Republicans until at least 100 years after the civil war.

New demographics are emerging, but for now these people see their only salvation in a racist demagogue who is not afraid to speak their language. That indeed does make Trump real. He is on a roll to win the nomination. Will he win the presidency? I doubt it seriously. But there are black swans out there swimming in the offshore waters. Health problems. Terrorism. Financial meltdown.

But is Clinton a better option? A proven liar?

I heard some of her stuff on Sanders and it really is putting me off on her. NPR did note how she is starting to say the same things like this back in '08.

Donald Trump's penchant for retweets once again raised eyebrows, after he recirculated a tweet on Friday from a user with the handle "WhiteGenocideTM."

The profile -- with about 2,300 followers -- used the name "Donald Trumpovitz," linked to a website containing a pro-Adolf Hitler documentary, featured a background photo with red lettering saying "Get the F--- Out of My Country" and had a location of "Jewmerica." The account also includes a photo of George Lincoln Rockwell, founder of the American Nazi Party.
And here we go.

Man are the American Nazis going to be upset when "Making America Great Again" doesn't involve genocide, and instead just a large 24/7 free buffet.
