Trump Economy Tracker

If memory serves, during his first term, he on multiple occasions helped tank the market. Short selling is a risky game with him because you never know what he is going to do... and when.

If the Trudeau call works out because Trudeau promises to send more Mounties to the border to prevent the the US from allowing drugs through US Customs... then this is just another one of those Trump Presidency moments where he gets all this attention on the news, makes Government workers burn through OT like crazy... and then suddenly back to the status quo until the next arbitrary Trump Blip.

Just heard the market is down 600 points. I don't know what that means since I'm not up on stock market lingo but it doesn't sound good.
1% means that the market is starting to take the possibility of this seriously, but not remotely low enough that they are certain. I'd figure at least a couple thousand with no progress or hints of progress in the meetings today.

The Market is currently looking at Trump asking him "Are you that stupid?"
The market I referred to above was the DJIA. The NYSE composite is down 110 points but that is better than the steep drop it took as soon as trading opened this morning.
I know. What I was saying was the market was starting to take the tariff seriously (drop 600 pts), but now it appears to just be Trump getting meaningless concessions and the threat is temporarily over (down 100 pts because traders forget what else there was to trade on). If Canada call falls through, market will drop 1000+ bigly.

So, the market is down nearly 1000 points today. Of course, 1000 points isn't what it used to be (just over 2%) with the Dow at >40,000.

That said, generally markets at this point are still riding the previous administration, but Trump's ideas on tariff policy are now scaring the crap out of investors. The Dow is down nearly 6% since mid February, back when the markets weren't taking Trump and his tariff threats seriously. The S&P 500 is down over 8% in the same range. The NASDAQ is down over 15%. And all because of Trump's actions and how the market is interpreting their impact on the economy.

Can't you just SMELL the greatness?

Trump's ideas on tariff policy are now scaring the crap out of investors.
“Now” meaning since a few weeks after he was elected, when his intent to destroy the American economy per Putin’s instruction became clear to investors.

This is so irritating because no one should take anything that delusional maniac says as gospel.

Where the fuck is Thanos when you need him?

The markets weren't. And then he put the tariffs into place on Mexico and Canada. And he doubled the tariff on China. That is still in play.

$8 for 12 count, $12 for 18 count.

The organic, free range, happy chicken variety are running about $12 a dozen. I get a half dozen/split carton.

Aren't they all "grade A large"? I don't recall seeing anything but. Is there a grade B puny?
Yes, chicken eggs come in different grades (AA, A, and B) and sizes (jumbo, extra-large, large, medium, small, and peewee), besides the commonly found "Grade A large".
Thank you Google AI overview.
"Peewee"?

I notice that the grade a large eggs from Meijer are significantly larger than the same grade and size at Kroger.

The DOW is down another 552 right now. Trump is doing such a great job with the economy. /s Even the WSJ has written an editorial stating that his trade war is the dumbest thing ever. I can't post that because I saw it on the news this morning. Who is the dumbest, Trump, Musk or Vance?

S&P 500 is approaching an official "market correction." Down 10 percent from February.
