The article in Wikipedia on patron saints by occupation and activity is good for a 15 minute skim read, anyway. Among other things, I learned there is a patron saint for vinegar makers (Vincent of Saragossa.) Like many saints, he isn't just loafing all day; most of the patron saints have multiple jurisdictions. Saint Lucy is the patron saint of 9 occupations, including salesperson, and she can also be invoked for a number of health woes, including hemorrhages and dysentery. More areas of patronage, and I am not making these up:
Pig keepers - Anthony the Abbot
Motorcyclists - Columbanus (I wonder if he got his first innings with chariots)
Odd lot dealers - Cajetan
Laundresses - Clare of Assisi, but also Hunna and also Veronica (they must be specializing on heavy loads, water extractors, Calgon, etc)
Comedians - Genesius, along with Lawrence, Philip Neri, and Vitus (I'm guessing Bill Cosby ignored them)
Clowns - Genesius again, along with Maturinus (shouldn't it be Immaturinus?)
Cinema - Genesius yet again
Computer techs - Isidore of Seville, who died in the year 636, which begs the question of which version of Windows he cut his teeth on (Stained Glass 1.0 is my guess)
Pharmacists - too many to list (a total of seven)
Waiters - Zita (but no patron saint for impatient diners?)
Europe - Bridget of Sweden, who also made the news by having a vision of where to find Jesus' foreskin (for that story, consult the Holy Prepuce article in Wikipedia)
First thing tomorrow, I'm gonna go mad Catholic.
